I love Time Sieve's crazy potential. Almost definitely not very good, but fun.

I don't think Maelstrom Pulse is that big a deal.  It seems like it'll be situationally better than Vindicate, but generally worse - Vindicate can blow up all sorts of land cards.

It's worth pointing out that two cromulent cards from Invasion Block are being reprinted in this set - Meddling Mage and Terminate so far.  Cycles as of late have been rather cheesedick, but I'm all about seeing cards from a great block coming back for another pass.  Wonder what the other 3 are going to be, hrrrrrm....

I think the art is amazing, however its not a MM art. its a burning lady............

From the 11 new spoilers, what looks the best is the

Compared to the Viridian Zealot, which is a rare, I really like this one. I will try this boy in legacy Rock deck.

The new super lhurgoft is pretty cool I guess, its a shame it came out in a set where Relic of Progenitus exists.

Lord of Extinction

Creature - Elemental   Mythic Rare
Lord of Extinction's power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in all graveyards.

Really?  I don't care for it.  The thing might as well be a pyromancer or something.  I don't see how the person depicted is meddling at all.

That Pridemage is a cool little card I think, definitely playable.

I want the new mega-lhurgoyf to be good... maybe some clever way of using him with Oath and Anger if you could stack your deck right.. :/

In other news, there's talk over on mtgsalvation that are no Cascade cards with a CMC less than 3 - d'oh!

Ok kids, time to get excited.

Sen Triplets  3WBU
Legendary Artifact Creature — Human Wizard (MR)
At the beginning of your upkeep, choose target opponent. This turn, that player can’t play spells or activated abilities and plays with his or her hand revealed. You can play cards from that player’s hand this turn.
They are the masters of your mind.
3/3
109/145
Greg Staples

Not only weldable, it work's every turn!

The cost is huge but if you can untap with him, you win!

Hmm...I don't think that will work.

You ought to use Dragon Breath if you want to go that route.

Actually just see a pic of Sen Triplets - the casting cost is only 2WUB. Though obviously hardcasting is the least preferable option! A permanent Mindslaver seems really rather nasty.. will have to get some of these Smile

@Diakonov: yup, that is way better.... Smile

I am very much hoping that Sen Triplets is relegated to the status of jank rare
once everyone realizes that it dies to everything and that you need to actually have the mana available to play your opponent's spells,
as I'd like to easily pick some up for my ridiculous multi-color Vintage deck.
Most fun card ever?

However, Sen Triplets will probably end up being worth some obscene amount regardless of how much play it sees,
since it's multicolor with very cromulent fantasy flavor, like Rafiq of the Many.

Also,
Qasali Pridemage is the most sick-nasty 2/2 dork I have seen in a long time. Dude's straight up ball'n.
Once the new set comes out, you can bet I will be all up in that.

Time to open up a can of bitterness lol.  I'm not a troll, somebody just has to tell it like it is Marge.

1.The art on MM looks crappy.  Both the PS and the judge foil look better.  This looks like lost art from Mirage.

2.  See my writeup in the ST thread about why the card will be a kitchen table jank rare.  It will be worth a bit for the same reason Reya and Sliver Queen are... it's a cool casual card.

3. QP will be good in legacy, but the  {W} will really make it difficult to play in vintage.

That new MM is hideous.  I'm glad I have old ones because that thing is horrible looking.

Also, the word 'cromulent' has been used twice in this thread.  That has to be some sort of internet record.

Aw I feel like such an outcast being the only one who likes the new art.  Don't get me wrong, I will play with the older ones because older foils look better (the foil star is why I like older foils) but the new art is kool to me.  The old art is kind of like, "WHITE, er, uh, no, I mean BLUE!"  But this chick looks like she is dispelling some fire spell or something. Also, I think it will look sick as a foil.  Maybe I just like things being engulfed in flames.

Wholly shit, I didn't know QP had t3h Exalted on it.  I liked it as a bear with an ability, but now it's like... zomg it goes in my little kid Standard deck :D  And it's common!  w00t

What can I say, big words embiggen me.

Oh and Bant has a bad Time Walk now, in Finest Hour.  Not certain I'll play it but it's good to see the "additional combat phase" thing in White instead of Red for a change.  Creatures attacking alone triggers a handful of effects like tapping creatures and gaining lifelink (which stacks, a 2/2 with two lifelinks on it gains you 4 life) so it's a pretty neat way to "abuse" Exalted.

The art for MM is clearly the woman meddling with the fire spell. I like it just fine, although I prefer the old one just barely, because of the blues in the art.

Cromulence embiggens us all.

Ardent Plea
1wu
Enchantment   Uncommon
Exalted
Cascade

that is pretty good. Cards that come to mind with this; meddling mage, standstill, etc.

Its simple, yet a good card, I like it. No idea why it has elspeth praying on it though as the art :S

As long as we're discussing things scrumtrulescent...

Ardent Plea  1WU

Enchantment
Uncommon

Exalted, Cascade

AFAIK this is the cheapest Cascade spell printed so far.  I have this weird notion that Legacy Thresh will try and run this card, as it makes Goyf bigger (sigh), finds Goyf (siiiigh) and casts draw spells 'for free'. grumble pitches to force grumble.

No idea why it has elspeth praying on it though as the art :S
When you play it, you reveal cards from the top of your deck,
hoping to get some good card to pop up and help,
which is much like praying to some higher power for help (and will sometimes be the same thing in close games).

In addition, the Exalted bit is very appropriate,
both because of the religious ramifications
and because you are definitely going to offer praise and/or special treatment
to any creature that shows up to save your ass after playing this card.

I wonder if this card has any potential for abuse.

This thing, looks ridiculous, especially in Legacy. With 2 tops you get permanent +1 for each colourless mana you spend, and unrestricted brainstorms for that format seems unreal.
This really looks like Goyf 2.0 to me, or at least an upgrade of qurion dryad, though it's possible this is manaplasm the second coming and is spoiled incorrectly.

Wisescale Serpent*
1UG
Creature - Snake   Uncommon
Whenever you draw a card, you may put a +1/+1 counter on Wisescale Serpent.
2/2

This seems fun, though it may not be any better than the wistful selkie, but something to think about.

Vedalken Heretic
UG
Creature - Vedalken Shaman   Rare
Whenever Vedalken Heretic deals damage to an opponent, you may draw a card.
1/1

In a format with decent draw spells, Wisescale Serpent just may be a contender for Goyf's vaunted position - the first problem I see besides its casting cost (cmc 3 < cmc 2, oddly enough) is that fresh Serpents aren't already huge, while Goyf is always big as long as the graveyards are intact.  It also seems a little harder to feed; besides an automatic counter on the draw, you'll have to spend draw spells just to grow it and that's where Goyf shines in that it really doesn't require its own investment; splashing for Goyf doesn't involve much thought since you were probably planning on casting spells anyway.

I guess they react differently to the same hate; Wisescale doesn't fear yard haters like Tombstalker and Relic of Progenitus.  Oh and Wisescale does something else Goyf doesn't do, pitch to Force.  If it matters a damn Razz

The more I think about it there's probably a deck that uses all the good 'Gro' creatures - Dryad, Goyf and this guy - and just plays incredibly fast beats with just enough countermagic to keep people from dicking you over.

Obviously, this card will break Unspeakable Symbol in half.

Also, what's with Wizards printing all this absolutely amazing three drops
that share their color requirements with Noble Hierarch's mana abilities?
It's like some type of conspiracy.
Mistwalker Behemoth and Wisescale Serpent are the most recent offenders.
Why don't you just make my deck for me, too, Wizards?

Yeah there's a shit ton of good Bant cards right now.  Even as a Bant fan I'm really weirded out by it.

Maybe the people in charge of spoiling are just favoring the GWU cards, but throughout most of this block the other shards seem to have offered way less to the game than Bant.  There are redundant rares and really solid commons all over the shard, you can build like 3 different Bant decks that all basically do the same thing.  And then there's the random fatties like Mistwalker Behemoth which have nothing to do with Bant, really, they're just huge beasts.

You know, I've been dying for a really great RG burn spell.  Like, I want a RG instant that's on par with Lightning Helix, which was just nuts in its block and still one of the better burn spells ever.  RG beats has been around forever, just guys and burn and win - throw 'em a bone!

Luckily, Mistwalker Behemoth just got changed to Nulltread Gargantuan on the spoiler
and now puts the creature on top of the library instead of in hand.
Yay, one less good Bant three drop. lol

Dont you know anything Matt? Obviously this is broken with city of brass. and ancient tomb, imagine both on the table, 1 any color mana, 2 colorless for NO DRAWBACK and you only lose one card. Best combo ever.

Though I think it can be ok with bargain and necro though those decks dont need this.

I think in multiplayer this is awesome, with kokusho, or with any card that does damage to all players.

btw the entire Spoiler is out. Nothing really good though.

I personally think that there are plenty of playables. There just aren't any cards broken enough to be autoincludes in the current dominant decks.

One example is Quasali Pridemage.
Given, he's kind of obvious, but there are some subtle cards, too, that I think have some potential.

Then again, I'm a little biased, since I'm totally going to play Pillar of the Paruns Control after this set comes out.
So, feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt.
