Seems like an auto-play in Blue EDH decks.  The 0:Brainstorm compares favorably to Phyrexian Arena.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

I see him getting vintage play since Brainstorm and Unsummon are both extremely relevant in the control mirror.

Seems like a reason to play another fetch or 2 along with your usual list of tutors to have 25% of your cards shuffle your deck. Between your draw step and free brainstorm you get 2 of the best of your top 4 cards each turn.

I think him having unsummon will give insane tempo boosts against fish/beats decks and really makes him playable since he will stick around longer than tezzeret ever dreamed of. If nothing else he will soak up some damage since left untouched you will wreck people in card advantage.

Nether Void is absolutely terrible. I can't envision any game I've played with The Deck where I would have wanted everything to be mana leaked.

In non-Jace news, the WOTC site now features "pop up cards" like ChannelFireball does.  Just move the mouse pointer over the card and BAM! A pic of the card appears.  No more linking to Gatherer. Smile

Its quite useful to people reading articles about formats they don't normally play in.  I draft, and play Vintage.  I know all the Vintage cards, and well, whatever Draft cards I've encountered, but I'm no encyclopedia.  I LOVE that I can see what these new cards are. And I hate clicking on a link to a card that I may or may not care about.

That's fine in an article.  On a forum though, it would be really irritating.  On the rare case that someone references a card you don't know, just open gatherer.

How would it be irritating? The image would only pop up when mousing over the text, just keep your cursor over to the side.

I'd be irritated. If I'm referencing an obscure card, I'll include the relevant information. I don't want some forum software inserting a hyperlink because I said that I was "pondering" which deck to play, or that I was concerned about Somali "piracy."

I don't think it would turn "Pondering" into a link, I think you would have to spell the exact card name such as "Ponder". I think the feature would be nice and perhaps an option to enable/disable it in user control panel so people who don't want it won't have it.

From The Vault: RELICS!

15 Artifacts.

What could possibly go into this extremely limited edition release?

My wish: Mox Sapphire, Mox Emerald, Mox Ruby, Mox Jet, Mox Pearl, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Black Lotus, Time Vault, DRACO, and 5 other awesome artifact cards. Smile

Reality: Mana Crypt at most (if WOTC can reprint that), maybe Nevynryalls Disk/Black Vise.

Pretty cool preview art.

Mana Crypt is NOT reserved, so it's available. Also, for anybody who might want to suggest cards: Reserved List. Then again, I'm still of the opinion this is a "premium" set and therefore not subject to the reserved list, even though WotC says it is, so whatever.

Looks like a Sol Ring.  I mean seriously, why wouldn't that be in there other than it's a judge foil?  What are the serious relics from ages past that are AWESOME?   I remember the follwoing being useful relics(some i know were from the previous ftv): Black Vise, Zuran Orb, Ivory Tower, Mirror Universe, Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Memory Jar,  Candelabre of Tawnos, Feldon's Cane, Voltaic Key, Lotus Petal,  Lion's Eye Diamond, Top, Skullclamp, trinisphere, Icy manipulator, Gaubtlet of Might, timevault?, sword of the ages,  and other than that I cant think of too many other ones that were that good.  For some reason I drifted towards iconic or once restricted cards.  I could be seriously off here though.

EDIT

i'd say the art is spoiling Nevinyrral's Disk.

this is so more likely    Very Happy

My shot in the dark guess (though checked against the reserved list):
Black Vise
Zuran Orb
Ivory Tower
Mana Crypt
Mana Vault
Feldon's Cane
Voltaic Key
Nevinyrral's Disk
Forcefield
<PREVIEW MYTHIC>
Chalice of the Void
Engineered Explosives
Aether Vial
Ravager
Sphere of Resistance

10 of those would be 'new borders for the first time'.  I would put new art on:
Zuran Orb
Mana Crypt
Mana Vault
Voltaic Key
Nevinyrral's Disk (~teased in release statement?)
Forcefield
Engineered Explosives
Arcbound Ravager
Sphere of Resistance

The big ones I'd like to see are Forcefield, Mana Crypt and Mana Vault.  I would bet that we will get Sphere of Resistance.

Is it me? Or is this the most closely guarded set (Worldwake) in years?  Pre-release just a few weeks away, and we have knowledge of just 6 cards.

Zendikar was just as much on lock-down. In fact, they kept the whole 'priceless treasures' thing a secret until the night before the prerelease, and that only because some store jumped the gun and opened packs earlier than they were supposed to.

Mysteries of the deep looks like it might be ok in type 2, assuming you fetch at EOT.

Is {4}{U} too much in Vintage to draw 3 cards at instant speed?

Yes--even if it drew 3 cards unconditionally.  We already have Skeletal Scrying, which although black, is better instant speed draw, and it is hardly played.  Some people have even been cutting Fact or Fiction from their Tezz lists, and this card is clearly much worse.

A juggernaut with a POSITIVE ability? Yep, hes getting played.

Holy balls. That card is almost perfectly designed to make Shop Aggro better. Jesus.
I don't know if Shop aggro will be tier one again, but if any card can make that happen I think this is it.
Also, this card isn't awful in other mana denial decks that can reach 4 mana, like some of the WR aggro/sphere (or TMWA) decks that used to see some play.
In addition, isn't he potentially good in Legacy, Extended, and Standard since storm-style combo and/or cascade exist in all of those to some extent?

A Juggernaut that can block AND a sphere. At the same time. Balls. This is just BALLS INSANE.

I wouldn't mind trying blue shops with this guy. Or just mana drains with spheres.  Probably just aweful all the way around.   I think Jugger-Sphere here, will def make some lists, just much better ones than I have proposed.

Non-artifact means it doesn't hit artifact mana, so while it's certainly a positive ability, I don't think it's as good as it looks at first glance, either.

I disagree: this likely takes *fish* out of the meta.  Obv, it helps Oath (since stax now reliably runs out a creature turn 1) and barely effects Tez.
