There will be a type 1 held in November at the College of Dupage. Here is the info. When: Sunday November 9th 2008 Where: College of Dupage Student Resource Center- Cafeteria 425 Fawell Glen Ellyn, IL Entry Fee: $25+ $.25 for each proxy over 25 Start: Registration at 10:00am. Round 1 at 11:00am Proxies: 25+ Prizes: 1st Mox Jet 2nd Itl Mana Drain 3rd/4th Unl Tropical Island Prizes are Guaranteed. Prizes will increase accordingly with attendance. I had no trouble making Top 4 in this tournament with my Tezzeret deck, just as I had no trouble making Top 4 in the last tournament. I'm not sure how you can say Tezzeret is trash with a straight face, when in the last tournament you ran Tezzeret (piloted by YOUR BROTHER) won the tournament, and was the only deck to even beat my version on the day. You really seem to have no idea, which is why you played Ichorid I guess. Where did that get you? Tezzeret is like Yawgmoth's Will in a control shell. It's basically a one card combo. It doesn't matter what Jimmy or Soly or Danny or I were playing as our win conditions (whether it was Tezzeret, Psychatog, Tendrils of Agony, etc.). Owen's deck was simply a tempo deck built to prey on slower Drain decks, and that's why he won in a field of Drains and Fish decks. It's not really hard to figure out. |

That was over a month ago. And I played Ichorid because I wanted to try it out and I was bored with crushing people with DEEZ NOUGHTS. That was the last 'major' tournament in the area, and not much has changed since then. It's still Tezzeret, Fish, Ad Nauseam, and aggro control in the metagame, with the occassional TPS/Dredge/Dreadnought/Oath or other random decks mixed in. |
