This is great. I am so glad that something like this is being set up in the Bay Area and I'm really looking forward to the impact that this can have on the local community.

The white elephant has been sighted and it's time to go on safari.
Dust off your guns and show up tomorrow to support your local type 1.

Be there or be nowhere.

Last week there were enough ppl to make it 4 rounds (I think 13 showed).  Superstars is also very friendly and asked inputs from the players of how to make it better. The payout is great and the atmosphere is very friendly.  If you are around SJ you definitely should drop by and duel.

The starting time of 7 pm seems like it would be kind of rough for people who have to commute there and deal with 5 or 6 o' clock traffic. I know with that starting time I personally probably won't ever be able to make it.

I wonder if a later starting time (like 8 or 9pm) would make it easier for people to attend the tournament.

If you push the starting time too late, you encounter the same problem: people not being able to play because the late end time conflicts with their need to get sleep before working on Friday.

Brent, Fob, and I are going. I'm guessing a minimum of 10 people.

10 Sounds like a minimum, honestly. I know at least two people who missed last week that will be there, and there is every reason to at least try to pester Manny until he agrees to come (I mean, even if it doesn't work, giving Manny a hard time is fun).

Some of you guys left early, but I talked to Eric and he said it will definitely be $7 to enter next time.  $14 was way too much -_-

Unless something goes wrong, Brent, Web, and I will be showing up every week trying to get vintage going regularly here in NorCal.

Man, where are you Eric? I had 4x Massacre and 4x FTK ready against you :-p

Sorry guys, I'll make it next week. I would have had to drive like 200 miles that day if I had gone. Jeez, 4 massacres... that's some serious hate.

That's great news. At $14 it felt a bit expensive. Also, I would have felt obliged to play a real deck next week, despite my intense desire to play a more....shall I say, "Josh" style deck.

The elections may be over, but the real race is just beginning. Two weeks straight have been dominated by the royal TPS player. Who can dethrone him to claim ownership of his sovereign ground?

The last 2 weeks have shown these decks:

Week 1:
2 Ad Nauseam Tendrils
2 Canonist Parfait
1 Control Slaver
1 TPS
1 Tezzeret MUC
1 Affinity

Week 2:
2 TPS
2 ichorid
1 4-c tezzeret
1 MUC
1 control slaver
1 Uw artifact aggro
1 mono-red shop aggro
1 oath

What deck shall you wield tomorrow? Solve the metagame and claim your prize. Fail and face your doom. Tread carefully for you might just find yourself drowning in a sea of hate.......

I will answer the call. Looks like you've got a pretty good start for your highlander deck there. Oh wait, that's your sideboard? :/

Dust off that snow ladies.

Type 1 is on this Thursday.

Drop the holiday fruitcake and stake your claim.

Be there or be nowhere.

You should keep up with the mini-reports/results, especially if over 16 people show up for TMD standings etc.

I might let co-worker take my Saturday shift to make the cash tourney. I might not. But it's possible.

Yea, I know I've been slacking with the coverage, but I've been busier than usual as of late.

So good to see things going well in Nor Cal. Northern Nevada is struggling. We can't get 10 to a tourney any more. Players upset store owners who stopped running tourneys. Players sold their stuff and the scene is dead.
