Once again, back is the incredible!

When: Saturday, December 20, 2008 11AM Registration, 12PM Start.

Entry $25

Where: Legends Comics 503 York Road, Towson, MD 21204 410-321-7607

www.legendscomics.com for store details

What: 20 Proxy Unsanctioned Vintage, modified Swiss (rounds according to DCI guidelines) with cut to Top 8. Normal proxy rules apply

Prizes: (I will guarantee the prizes at 25 people, but the prizes can be adjusted up or down depending on attendance.)

1st: Mox Ruby (Additional Moxes may be added, or if I can get a better one, we will give choice with possible Double Mox for attendance)

2nd: NM Alpha Berserk

3rd: $75

4th: $50

Stay tuned for updates!

EDIT: I am rescheduling due to conflict with the Pittsburgh vintage event. I had a conversation with RitNecroWin, and despite some differing of opinions, I will take the L this time so there is no conflict. As far as I can see, nothing is happening Dec. 20, and this will give me time to make sure the prize pool is better than normal.

I was hoping Nov. 22.  Either way it should be fun!

November 22nd actually works a lot better for me; however, judging from TripleAgent saying "Saturday", I'm led to believe it's in December...kinda real close to the holiday season perhaps? (as in...being deep in it).  Then again, last I heard from TripleAgent and Paul, they were planning to hold it in November.

Oh yeah, I guess the others have been on Saturday.  Well, good.  Nov. 22 works for me too.  I thought they were going to plan one for November as well.

I like that this thread has really just been the two of us speculating on the correct date of this tournament without having any actual information.  I hope this gets resolved soon.

How would people feel about a Time Vault for 2nd?

I am rescheduling due to conflict with the Pittsburgh vintage event. I had a conversation with RitNecroWin, and despite some differing of opinions, I will take the L this time so there is no conflict. As far as I can see, nothing is happening Dec. 20, and this will give me time to make sure the prize pool is better than normal. I apologize for any inconvenience, but will attempt to make the prize pool really good since I now have an extra month. I think I'll try for Double Mox again...

Time Vault sounds like a pretty sweet prize.  However, I doubt I can make it December 20th.  Too many holiday obligations to contend with for me.  Any luck trying to schedule it maybe the weekend before?  I could potentially do that.

That's the first weekend with no tournament in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast. Check out the calendar. And I'll break down what is really going on when I see you.

Checking the calendar, I definite see what you're talking about with regards to December 6th (Blue Bell), but the following weekend, December 13th, is a tournament all the way in Massachusetts.  That's pretty far of a distance to travel for us Marylanders (in my opinion). Do you think that could sway you to move it up?  It's also real close to the holiday season like I was talking to with Paul too.

While the players from Maryland might not go to Mass and vise versa, there are players in between who would go to one and would have to choose one. And to be honest, they're going to choose the Mass tourney.

I prefer more tournaments more often, so sooner is always better for me because you then also have time for future tournaments.  Plus, Baltimore is the closest venue to me.  Too bad Pittsburgh had to go and screw this one up.  I blame them.

Nat and all others that share this view: Our event was scheduled and posted on October 1st, 15 days prior to this events original scheduled date.. In addition, we moved our date on October 1st as to not conflict with Nick Coss's event (Which I would highly urge anyone that's free to attend, it's shaping up to be AMAZING) - We did this out of respect for a TO who had already put a lot of time (and personal funds) into his event.

I will say, I sincerly respect and appreciate Tripleagents desicion to reschedule his event. He did not want to canabilize one another's attendance; having moved our event once and sheduled long before hand, we are unable to reschedule our event. I would think as a vintage community, we would want mature TOs helping to keep the format thriving, such as Tripleagent.

I truly apologize to anyone who may be inconvienced by this descision. I welcome you all to join us Nov. 22nd as it will be a HIGHLY competitive field and the prize support keeps getting better and better. I know that several of the Pittsburgh players will do our very best to attend B-More the 20th of December.

Sorry, Brian, totally kidding.  I'm glad everyone's so good about rescheduling and working around other peoples' tournaments.   I'm just jealous that I can't make it to Pittsburgh tournies (or, really, anywhere) on my own.  See you in Philly next weekend, right?

Pretty much. I could go buy insane prizes and "compete", but then we'll just have two smaller tournaments as opposed to two separate ones that do well. Not a good precedent at all.

Apologies on the lack of updates, just wanted to let you know, I acquired a collection recently, and it looks like 2nd place may be a NM Alpha Berserk! I'm still looking for additional prizes, but this looks like a lock. More to follow later this week.

might be at this with a few nj players.

gripe: it's not really a guaranteed prize if you need 25 players to give it out. DUCY?

Apologies for the late responses and no scans, my hard drive crashed Friday, no home PC for now, posting from work. (Proxy FTW) The Ruby is the one not selected from last time, and the Berserk has slight white around the edges, but is gorgeous otherwise, rikimaru and a few others can vouch for it.

ashiXIII - Hope you show. Anyone who noticed from the last 2 events, I'm a little generous with the required number of people, if it's shy of 25 I will give away the Mox anyway, and it is nice. I only put that there to cover my ass, unlike independently wealthy TO's like Gunslinga who has power to spare lol, I am a working stiff who can barely afford dropping 250 to 500 dollars every other month without a return. If I didn't do so well on trades, these events wouldn't likely be this good or occur at all. If I don't give the Mox away, I will likely give almost ALL entry cash away plus some cards from my binders.

TripleAgent, just want to clarify about deck postings.  Are we going to have the option of keeping deck postings anonymous this time?  I just want to have it stated clearly for everyone to know your stance for this tournament before we get into another decklist argument again.  Also, looks like I might be able to appear this time.  Looking forward to it.

Hope you're able to play, and we went through this last time, I am not withholding lists, I feel it's a disservice to the community. These are public tournaments, but if it grows, something I plan to work HARD for in '09, they will be a "major", or something resembling one. If you have to keep your "tech" that secret, why are you playing at a public event like this? We had Mastriano show last time, you think he's not paying attention? PS, I think you might want to check your sarcasm detector Wink
