so after a long ass day in Philly, the aftertourney smoke before the car ride home started a fun topic of discussion. What was the DUMBEST play error you have seen or made. I'm talking about the one that your buddies/teammates still ride you for ,the one that to you was worse then walking to a chalkboard in high school with a hard on! the worst i have ever seen....My buddie who to be nice will remain nameless in bluebell for a bit ago made the worst i have ever seen. first turn he got to go first and his turn was something like this ....... crack delta, tap underground for black rit necro.....go! lol i almost pissed myself as i fled the room to go tell all who i could .......i mean i talked to him about it afterwords and told him what he did wrong. that second part was a lie ! ha ha ha !!!!!!!!! and he wonders why his nickname is Napoleon.
so fess up on your story's share them!!!! its good to giggle a bit ...
in ending What was the DUMBEST mistake you have seen or made.

I once played Dark Ritual, and passed turn after realizing the plan I had layed out I played in the wrong order.

I tend to make mistakes when I get flustered or excited but i've done stuff like messing up my math when i'm comboing someone out or like forgetting to pay for a pact once.

I once had game 3 won in the X-1 bracket of a PTQ with Gifts Tron. He had lethal on the board, but I had infinite Mindslaver with Academy Ruins. I miscounted mana, thought I was one short and had it lost, and scooped... and as I did so, I noticed the last land in my graveyard, and my Crucible of Worlds in play. Flushed the whole tournament.

the worse i've done:
1- playing with mono U against dragon (very old build with whispers of the muse to draw whole deck, cunning stroke kill). I had arcane laboratory in play 6 counters and a cuninng wish in hand, my opponent desperately plays animate targeting dragon to try to draw that match, i look at my hand and decide to cunning---> stifle, when i play stifle my opponent points arcane lab and a teammate kicks my head...
the worse an opponent has done:
1- opens: swamp, ritual, yawgWill... says Fuck! and passes.
The worse i've seen:
player A has 3 basking rotwalla
Player B: plays echoing truth targeting one rootwalla (so they go to player A hand), then player B plays cabal therapy naming Basking rootwalla!
Player A: puts rootwallas into his graveyard!!!!

When I was first playing TPS, I played rit, rit, duress SEEING TENDRILS, but taking FoW, Grim Tutor for Lotus, and slapped in down on the table, thinking I had a Demonic Tutor in hand...well it was a vampiric tutor. So I VT for Yawg Will and pass, burning for one. My opponent proceeds to win on his turn, by playing rit, rit, tendrils.
Not a play error, but a funny play I saw was my friends opponent was playing the tendrils mirror match and he played tendrils, with lethal storm, only to lose to a quickend tendrils.

Well, my memory isn't the sharpest....but some odd things happened along time ago when i was messing around with the good ol' morphling builds of the time. A: My opponent was saving all of his targeted removal for my morphling, and letting my ophidian go through...And then at some point when i had a billion mana, 6 counterspells and morphling....Well it wasn't pretty. B: I played against someone who was obviously very bad....I had an abyss in play and he kept playing 1 creature at a time, letting it die in vain....I never quite figured out why he'd do that. C: While playing forbiddian, again, a long time ago, i had my opponent locked and for the past 10 turns or so i'd countered every spell he'd play with forbid, showing him the two cards i was discarding to buyback it..and at some point he asks "Can you do that every turn?" and i just looked at him in disbelief. ZomG. Fortunetly my current opponents are much better /Zeus

So many horrible plays to choose from....But #1 has to be from a PTQ earlier this year. I'm playing UG Tron v. Goblins. I have all these Moment's Peace's in my hand and graveyard, but I'll still be at 10 or so after his attacks, so I leave mana up so I can Gifts for the Slaver lock. Post combat he goes for an Earwig Squad. I'm so dejected that I forget that Earwig Squad doesn't matter. Option A here is to just cast the Gifts in my hand, get Loam, Slaver and 2 Tron pieces. I went with option B, though, which was hand him my deck, let him RFG my Loam, and knock myself into the stupid Ichorid bracket. Nice tournament!

I play brainstorm" Me: TPS Opp: Suicide He duresses me and rips my FoW. Terror (!) on my Darksteel Collossus with the words "I cleared the way; you won't counter! Ha!" "True, true ... I won't"

This happened during a weekly vintage event at Something2Do in KY. My opponent was playing Deeznoughts I was playing Gilded Claw or some Stax variant thereof. My opponent manages to keep artifacts out of the grave after seeing my welder. I play a chalice @ two to keep bobs and masks off the table. I land a trike and am getting ready to start the beatdown when she stifles in a dreadnought. Blast! I can't weld it out...but I am holding a balance and another welder. No prob, I can do this, right? So ON MY TURN I remove counters and weld away, churning out the damage to rid my side of creatures and triumphantly play my Balance. When she points to the chalice still sitting on two I go to frown town. Gotta love countering your own bombs.

I know someone that kept a hand of seven lands in a T1.
The really funny thing was the reaction the opponent got when he Duressed him. I almost died of laughter!

I had a really funny multiplayer game, I was playing Legacy Burn and had 4 Mountains with an almost full grip. A friend was at 1 life and was targetting another player with Lightning Helix. In response, I emptied my hand and all my lands (4x bolts and 2x Fireblast) to kill the guy being targetted with Helix. He dies, Helix fizzles (no legal target) and the third player proceeds to attack and kill the guy at one life. After that, he scoops up his stuff thinking he'd won!
W00t, I won the game by having no cards in hand and no permanents in play. He thought I had scooped after that since I had nothing left in play/hand (I was just waiting for my turn to say Draw/Go) so he scooped up himself instead!

I once built an Oath deck with two Rorix Bladewings in it since I didn't own an Akroma or Spirit of the night at the time. Round one, game one, I triggered Oath for the second time and realized that it was going to be a long tournament.

I was playing against an Oath/ Tezz deck which took me by suprise and he brings up a timevault and passes the turn. I didnt swing the tezz, and ended up losing the game because of that. I was so pissed.

I tend to make mistakes after 3 or 8 beers...
1)I stripped a darksteel citadel.
2)I've miscounted my library and drew myself to death with stroke I dont know how many times.
3)I once drew all 4 Mishra's factories in my top 10 cards, but didnt realize till 15 or 16 cards in that I forgot to shuffle and just split my deck and rifled it once. I didnt draw any land and died.
Opponents have had some good ones too...
1)in the top 8 an opponent tinkered out a colossus when I had a welder out.
2)I was playing Ubastax back in its hayday at a tournament, and an opponent playing a storm based deck let me cast a chalice for 3, thinking I was shutting off his tinker and thirsts. I had already duressed his only tendrils. The next turn he proceeds to go off, and then casts will. He asked if I was going to counter it, and I said no. He starts to grab stuff out of the grave, but stops dead when I tap the chalice to remind him its there. He scoops.
3)In a casual game, I had an opponent playing hulk smash go all in, failing to see my dawnstrider in play.

My best gem was while I was playing 5c Dragon. I start my turn by bringing back two Squee's to my hand. I have an active Xantid Swarm and the winning combo in my hand. I attack with the Swarm and in my second main phase I proceed to activate Bazaar of Baghdad. I draw into another Squee and proceed to put all three of them into my graveyard. I'm left holding an Animate Dead, Worldgorger Dragon and some other cards. My opponent then begins to topdeck like no tomorrow and eventually win the game.

The dumbest play I've ever seen was: I play Madness my opponent plays some version of 5C Stax (this was way back when I was still a newbie). At some point in the game I was way behind, having like a Basking Rootwalla, a Mongrel and one land with no cards in hand, he had a Workshop, a blue mox and a few cards in hand (I'm not really sure what the gamestate was). Anyway, he played Tinker and searched Triskelion, I was like okay I'm dead now, he then took his play back and searched for Trinisphere. So next turn I topdeck a Wasteland and Waste his Workshop then proceed to beat for the remainder of the game while he was stuck without mana. He nearly cried.

The dumbest play that comes to my mind was this:
Slaver vs Doomsday homebrew combo He has a Necro out and draws a full hand of 7 cards while I have a Slaver in play and the mana to slaver him. So I do and during his next turn I don't draw him to death with necro I just simply fuckup his hand and pass..
He go's EOT draw with Necro and during his turn casts Doomsday and kills me... (Big Homer Simpson DOH!!)

I was played my D&T homebrew vs a good mate, he played a kind of Fish with a ninja theme, after some time i managed to stick a jitte through his counters (1st was countered), and 2 turns later, i eventually had a lethal board through jitte advantage, and dropped the last jitte in my deck "FTW"...LOL. I gotta say to my defense, that I was serious drunk, stoned and it was late night like 4 am. And also one on opponents side at MWS. My Opponent stifled his own fetch to get threshold for his werebear to attack vs my 3/4 goofy which "mysteriously" now was 4/5, due to putting an instant into his grave =) .

Player: Umm I cast seal of cleansing. Me: Force pitching stifle. (no targets for seal, and blue mana up for stifle) Do you know why I did that? Cause I sure as hell don't.
Vintage Champs 07. I think I was 5-0 at the time. Playing Brain Demars. playing flash had one of the creatures in hand. Played flash went to get Body snatcher didn't pitch my guy and ended up returning Hulk and trying to beat for the win. I lost. Brain: " I thought you had me there." Me: "Yeah I'm bombed."
Those two stick out pretty strong, but give me a week I'm sure I can come up with and make more.

Playing for my first top 8 at a MDO. I had an active crucible and played thirst for knowledge at the end of my opponents turn. I had Academy, and Island, and a fetch already in hand. I ended up pitching Mystical Tutor and Fact or Fiction or something like that. During that same game I also countered a Yawg Will when I had a Tormod's Crypt on the board. I still won the game but it took a lot longer than it should have. *Jitters*
Also at worlds this past year it was my second tournament and I was paired against ichorid my first round. He won the roll. Turn 1 (him): Bazaar (activate) Turn 1 (me): Lay Strip Mine. Pass. Turn 2: Activate on Upkeep proceed to win.
Not sure if that was correct but he did get another activation because I passed the turn.
