If this were a day later, I might have been able to make it. Unfortunately, I don't think I can.

That being said, I am thrilled to see this sort of event being held. This is the type of event Vintage needs.

Also, is the proxy rule such that you're allowed 15 proxies total or 10 + 15 = 25 proxies total? I would think 15 total, but I just wanted to clarify the wording.

I agree this is the type of event Vintage needs! Also, tell your friends, it's not just Vintage... there will be  drafts running through out the day.... If people are going to travel, I want to make it worth it!

Proxies..... You can have a maximum of 15.... 10 are freebies; the other 5, if needed, are $1 each.

Also, I will be posting information regarding hotels and dining in the area in the next few days!

Oh dear!  Power Nine AND Cat Litter?!  Insane!

Will this be a two day event?

Can I win the award for farthest traveled even if my ID says I'm from Cleveland?  What if I drive from Cleveland to Las Vegas and then to Pittsburgh?    Wink

If this were two days, I could likely make day two.

Honestly, I'm not really sure why most events like this aren't two days. If everyone travels a long way to have the event on Saturday, the costs are already sunk so why not have a second day? (Other than logistical and hassle problems)

Obviously, you guys are in charge, but I would strongly encourage two days if possible.

Well… you asked for it and I like to deliver…
Day 2 of Steel City, Sunday August 2nd!!!
Tentatively scheduled , so for now save the date, Vintage Tournament (details to follow) and day 2 will occur at the store front for Mr. Nice Guy Games!

Also, we are finalizing the location for day 1 and it’s gonna be a doozy!

FINALLY something worth going to this summer.  It'll be right before the Vintage Champs, too, so I'm pretty happy to have this opportunity to play a major event before trying to become the first repeat Vintage Champ. It'll be pretty sweet to win this event right before I win my second painting.

It's always nice to go to a well run event, and as a close friend of RitNecroWin, I know he's already been planning this thing for a LONG time.

There are MANY awesome places to eat.  We'll be right in the heart of town, too, so there are tons of good places to go right near the venue.

Sounds absolutely insane. I definitely want in. Do my connections in the 'Burgh still pull any weight? (I.E. I'd need a place to pass out from euphoria between days 1 and 2.)

Feel free to PM me about it!

Is there any possible way we can do the Team competition thing that they have at the TMD opens? I think it would be pretty cool since this is the biggest Vintage event outside Gencon.

Updated Information.

Location moved from the heart of downtown to a more accessable location, 15 minutes outside of the city. In addition, by doing this, I am able to provide free parking and have access to hotels that are less than $200. (Avg. cost of a room in town!)

Pre-Registration added.

Who's planning on making the trip and battling it out for regional domination?

East Coast or Mid West?

This is comming along well.  I think that's a really nice thing to do for Dan, as while I only got to hang out with him a couple times, I thought he was a really good guy.  Could always count on him to be in the Top 8 at the Philly tournaments.  I'll have to figure out who my other two are, and they better be good because I certainly want to be the first one engraved on that trophy!!

I wish I could get Yangtime on my team, but he happens to be on Meandeck. Kind of makes me a sad panda.

What was Dan's favorite archetype? I only ask because I want to do an alteration to be given away as a door prize.

EDIT:

What was Dan's favorite archetype? I only ask because I want to do an alteration to be given away as a door prize.

This is no way of taking prize support away from the TO it is just my way of honoring a fellow vintage gamer.

Also, I'll be donating some of my Magic and Sandwich Punch themed t-shirts to the prize pool.  Anyone have any suggestions on what goes in?
