that's sad.  Manuel was a nice guy.  He was always so quiet.  I remember when he drove all the way to Columbus for a meandeck open.  He was a die-hard Vintage player.   RIP.

I have the sad news to hand out, Manuel Fernandez (hspecter) has passed away on this last Friday. He was a good friend and will be dearly missed. I do not have all the details of his passing however I can tell you that there will be a service for him tonight, 5/12, at 7PM at  St. Pancratius Church 4025 S. Sacramento Av., Chicago IL 60632-2495.

I'm torn up over this and can only imagne how his family is feeling, I think that if any one could make it to show support for Manny that would help lift the spirits of his family.

I'll try to keep every one here up to date as the information comes to me feel free to PM me and I would love to talk with some of his friends.

Since there were two topics on the same subject, I merged them.

Wow, that's crazy. I played against him at Gencon a few times. He seemed like a good guy. My condolences to his friends and family.

He was a teammate, and even though I didn't know him well I always talked/traded with him at tournaments.  He was too young to die, R.I.P. Manny

Manuel was a good friend, and to be honest I don't know what to say. He left us too soon, and will be greatly missed.

IDK why you're looking for so much credibility:  You top 8ed a couple tournaments.  Nice Job!

I got the text today from Tony (Tabasco).  Not only did I lose someone I gamed with frequently, but I also lost a teammate.

I got on GWS a year ago and Manuel was super cool since day one. He will be missed not only as a team mate, but as a friend.

I wish I could be there...  but I have to work.  I'll give a friend of mine permission to sign my name on the card: as I was a friend of Manny's.

I didn't know Manny very well, but I knew who he was.  He seemed like a good guy, and from what I could tell he was very young.  It is an irreconcilable tragedy that someone so young has died.  I wish the best for his family and friends.  I can only imagine what you are going through right now.
