Live on Monday, September 14!

Link:

In this article I focus on the design implications of Zendikar, and enemy fetchlands in particular.     I take a look at the changes that enemy fetchlands will bring to Vintage, including new design possibilities as well as general mana base improvements.

I also offer up a post-Zendikar Tezzeret list.

Enjoy!

I was kind of disappointed to not see any discussion about other possibly playable cards from Zen, such as mindbreak trap or some of the other juicier spoilers.

I would assume Steve is waiting till the full spoiler is up, to do an in-depth article on all the zendikar playables, though I have not read this article but from the sounds of it, just focuses on the new fetches playability.

Thanks for the writeup. I am noticing that people are calling the fetchlands by different names. Did Wizards put out a list of names initially then change it? For example I see Unstable Shoal called Scalding Tarn also Verdant Marsh called Verdant Catacombs.

I think people at MTGSalvation made educated guesses based on the "Orb of Insight", which were later corrected.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

The people over at MTG Salvation seem to get things wrong a lot I notice....
