After having two very successful events, I'm happy to announce N.Y.S.E. III, my biggest event yet:

When:

Saturday, October 17th
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM
First round will begin promptly at 12:00 PM

What:

$30, 15 proxy non-sanctioned Vintage tournament.  Deck registration sheets will be in use.  1st place prize of an Unlimited Black Lotus is guaranteed.  All other prizes are guaranteed at 50 entrants.  The prize structure will be scaled up with increased attendance.

The prize structure will be as follows:

1st: Unlimited Black Lotus
2nd: Unlimited Timetwister
3rd/4th: Revised Underground Sea
5th/8th: Force of Will
9th:  4 Foil Carnival of Souls

The highest finishing deck without a proxy wins an English Mana Crypt.

If we have 64 players for the event the prize structure will be updated to:

1st: Unlimited Black Lotus
2nd: Unlimited Mox Pearl
3rd/4th: Unlimited Timetwister
5th/8th: Force of Will
9th: 4 Foil Carnival of Souls

Additionally a side event for an Unlimited Timetwister will be held after the final round of the main flight (prior to the first round of top 8).  Entry for the side event is $10.  This event will be four rounds of Swiss with a cut to the winner.  Additional prize support will be added to this event with every 4 entrants beyond 16.

Non sanctioned Zendikar drafts will be available throughout the day, beginning after the second round of the event.

Where:

Brothers Grim Games & Collectibles
1244 Middle Country Road
Selden, N.Y.
11784
(631) 698-2805
brothersgrimgames@gmail.com

Store website:

http://brgrim.com/index.htm

Our head judge for the event will be Long Island's own Brian Paskoff, a level 2 judge.

So come out to the Island and spend a day playing Vintage with your friends.  This event should be a blast, more so than the last two were.  If you've got any questions regarding the event please feel free to PM me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I'm sure somehow I'll end up being the designated driver for this, so I should be there.

I'd love to see some New England players here so we can crush them like how the Yankees are crushing the American League East

Man, I have to debate on which event to go to now: this or the 5K in Philly... Either way, it looks like it'll be fun. Now that my shoot for this month has been canceled, I have more time. I'll see if I can get the team to go.

The star city 5k is the weekend of the 10th/11th, so unless you are referring to a different one there is no date conflict.

As Luecifer noted, there are (to the best of my knowledge) no date conflicts with this event.  My last event lost several players to a PTQ in Edison that was run the same day.  This event doesn't conflict with any PTQ, local Vintage tournament, or SCG tournament.

I think we're in for a monster showing, as I've heard from quite a few people who intend on making the trip.  We had 39 with a PTQ conflicting with the last tournament (and some of our Philly area friends unable to make it) - I think we're in for a great showing because I know that almost all of those people have said that they're going to make it (and I haven't heard of anyone from our last event who won't be able to...)

I'm running the numbers and I have a line on some extra power if we have an awesome showing.  If we get enough people to show I'm going to up the prizes to power for the top 4 (Lotus, Pearl/Ruby, Twister, Twister).  I'll update that as soon as I have a handle on how many people I would need to hit in order to do that (which depends on what I would potentially be paying out for the power I'm looking for).

I'm also working on making the event a little cooler, but more info on that later...

I know they are on different weekends, but I am trying to spend less on magic playing... Which is why I am debating. I might just go to both, cause how often do we get a lotus event and a 5k?

I'm running the numbers and I have a line on some extra power if we have an awesome showing.  If we get enough people to show I'm going to up the prizes to power for the top 4 (Lotus, Pearl/Ruby, Twister, Twister).  I'll update that as soon as I have a handle on how many people I would need to hit in order to do that (which depends on what I would potentially be paying out for the power I'm looking for).

Alright, I'm sold.

If that does happen, I'm so not going. No offense Nick, but seeing you in a bikini is not at the top of my list of things to do.

We can officially remain friends.

I own quite a bit of Yankees gear, but nothing like that.  I've never seen a Yankees bikini, not that I'd buy Yankees swim gear.

I do own Yankees running shorts though.

Im looking on making the event with a cooler...

Somehow Mr. Hangley I'm not surprised.

That Snapple was so good in Jersey that I just might have some more if you've got any on this Saturday...

As far as the day of the event goes though, I'm going to have to respectfully decline should the opportunity arise.

---

I've run the numbers, and I believe (but I will confirm this later) that I am able to guarantee the following at 64 players:

1st - Unlimited Black Lotus
2nd - Unlimited Mox Pearl
3rd - Unlimited Timetwister
4th - Unlimited Timetwister
5th-8th - Force of Will
9th - 4x Foil Carnival of Souls

English Mana Crypt to the highest finisher with no proxies

I know that the prize structure is top heavy, if people feel that's an issue, speak now.

Thats some serious Prize support Nick, the structure looks fine. I am not to sure what the 4X Carnival of Souls is about but whatever floats your TO boat is fine haha.

If we get to 64 players will there still be a side event and will it still be for a Twister?
