I used to have this built as a deck a while ago, then I took it apart. I wanted to build it again.

I have several questions that I was hoping to see input on:

1) Any good nonbasic lands that I've left off the list?

2) What should I run for a counter suite, besides Force, Drain, Remand, and Cryptic?

3) Are there any relevant pieces of mana accel that I left off the list?

4) What do I run for utility creatures?

I have about 25-30 slots to fill, not counting Islands.

General: Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar

Lands:
Tolarian Academy
Academy Ruins
Tolaria West
Darksteel Citadel
Seat of the Synod
Teferi's Isle
Lotus Vale
Reliquary Tower
x Islands (Probably around 25)

Manas:
Gilded Lotus
Thran Dynamo
Worn Powerstone
Eye of Ramos
Darksteel Ingot
Sky Diamond
Coldsteel Heart
Mox Diamond
Chrome Mox
High Tide
Sol Ring
Mana Vault
Mana Crypt
Grim Monolith

Broken:
Vedalken Orrery
Mana Drain
Tezzeret
Eye of the Storm
Long-Term Plans
Mind's Desire

Drawing:
Time Spiral
Frantic Search
Ponder
Compulsive Research
Brainstorm
Memory Jar
Mulldrifter
Rayne, Academy Chancellor
Jace Beleren
Braingeyser
Opportunity
Mind Spring
Stroke of Genius

Counters:
Remand
Force of Will
Cryptic Command
Rewind

Creatures:
Teferi
Venser
Solemn Simulacrum

Kill:
Brain Freeze
Memnarch

A few ideas:
Scrying Sheets + Snow-Covered Islands.  A fairly standard mono-color EDH draw engine.  You lose almost nothing by including it.
Reliquary Tower is another strong non-basic.

Rewind seems like a good counterspell here.  Maybe Dismiss as well.  Forbid?  Hinder is a must, as it is the best way to deal with opposing Generals.

I would think that Sapphire Medallion and Gauntlet of Power have a place here.

Sensei's Divining Top + Future Sight/Magus of the Future.  Trinket Mage is good in lists with only Sol Ring and Top as targets, and you have a few moxen and artifact lands he can also grab.

Mind Over Matter as a combo enabler?  Mind's Desire?

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Look at the Azami, Lady of Scrolls deck I posted in this thread.  It has many similar lines of play that you can take a look at for inspiration.

I've seen just running straight-up counters to make enemies.  The counters I like to run:
Mystic Snake, Spelljack, Commandeer, Misdirection, Draining Whelk.

If you do run more counters, the only one in that list that I like is Cryptic.  I'd definitely run all the Exclude, Remand, Dismiss card drawing style counters.  In a multiplayer group, if you just 1 for 1 some other guy, everyone else at the table ends up way ahead.

I'm glad you posted this, I was brainstorming cheap EDH decks I could build to lend to people who want to play but don't have a deck (or didn't bring theirs). 'Cheap' pretty much implies mono-colored ($2.00 manabase? Yes please) and Tomorrow was on the short list of generals, right after Kuro, Ogre Ascendant and Jaya Ballard.

If you wanted to go mono-u, there are more attractive generals like Keiga and Empress Galina.
