I heard from a very reliable source that this number is about accurate.

So what's the average print run of a set?

...and, given what we've seen so far, about what's the average value bump per pack?

We had 94 people at our prerelease and then 6 drafts. Sadly, only a mint revised volcanic island was opened.  Just in case people are wondering, it was in AZ

No treasure was opened at Eudemonia's Saturday prerelease in berkeley, which comprised a 64-player sealed + 2 drafts, for

64*6 = 384
24*2 = 48
...432 total packs.

I wasn't at the Sunday, so I don't know about that one.

At a prerelease in Montigny (France), no treasures were unearthed (67 players registered for sealed deck, a gunslinger, one 8-players draft). Speaking with the judge, the previous day netted only 3 cards for large events elsewhere in France, one Mox Diamond and 2 Phyrexian Dreadnoughts. Which feels a bit like winning 50€ at the lottery... Not bad, but still a disappointing feeling that it could have been better.

I did good on my 12 boosters (6 from the draft, 6 as a prize), however, scoring Iona, 2 planeswalkers (Nissa and Chandra), 2 Archive Traps (one foil), Goblin Guide, Obsidian Fireheart, Gigantiform.

I opened a pack and found the hardest stick of gum you'd ever want to chip a tooth on and it had some powdered sugar on it that got on the cards a little bit.   Wink

I'm sorry, but cards from Topps Baseball 1994 are not tournament-legal in any sanctioned format.

We had about 80 people in the pre-release here in Tucson, but no one opened any treasures.  We did have at least one foil Lotus Cobra though.

In Richmond we opened something north of 2000 packs and got 2 cards (that we're aware of): a Plateau and a Sliver Queen.  This fits with the reported estimate of 1 in 720 packs.

Has wizards made an official announcement yet?

this has to be a test. at this stage in seeing what was printed, in what numbers, in what editions (beta/unlimited/revised duals) they are just seeing how crazy people go for these. Hopefully, this leads to serious reprinting of power with a similar distribution in the coming year.

Someone math-ed the bolded out to be like 0.8-0.10 cents if thought about rationally. Of course that's a laughable disclaimer. In real-world terms, dealers all bumped boxes by 10-15 dollars after hearing the news. So something like 27 cents a pack bump.

As has already been beaten to death, the Reserved List prohibits that, so it will not happen.

The power isn't going to be reprinted.

The only thing I would favor would be them allowing the CE and CEI versions to be tournament legal.
At least that would introduce some additional power into the tourney scene without reprints.

I worked the pre release on Long Island at Brothers Grim for Gray Matter Conventions.  We opened 10 boxes of product in the main flight (360 packs) yielding no treasures.  Three eight man drafts were done (72 packs) with no treasures.  The 2HG event had 14 teams (112 packs) with a Revised Plateau opened.  The four boxes that the judge staff were compensated with were all opened and yielded no treasures (another 144 packs).

So, in summation, 688 packs were opened, yielding one treasure.  Incidentally the Plateau was paired with an Arid Mesa.  I heard (though I don't know the veracity of this) that the enemy duals that were packaged were all packaged with enemy fetches of the appropriate colors.  If anybody else knows anything about this, a confirmation would be appreciated.  I know that the Scrubland that was opened at Comicbook Depot was opened with a Marsh Flats, though I don't know that the Volcanic Island was opened with a Scalding Tarn.

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure our Plateau in Richmond was NOT opened along with an Arid Mesa.

My local dealer won't sell boxes for less than $110.

I made my traditional pre-order of 3 boxes, and in the 4th pack in the first box I cracked a pack-fresh revised Tropical Island.

Friday night the guy sitting across from me in my draft cracked an LED.

The guy who opened the Recall traded it for cash and some boxes...and in one of the boxes he got a mint Revised Volcanic Island.

Also of note is that I believe (although this might be wrong information, correct me if it is) that the Volcanic came out of a 2nd printing box.

How would you know it's a second print run box?

Has anyone actually been doing the statistics on this? What are the current best guesses?

I was told that all the boxes the store is selling as of Friday were second print run, again I have no clue if this is accurate or not, it's just what I was told. I'd hope that if they didn't include the treasures in the 2nd printing they would do something to distinguish the two print runs or something.

From what I've heard from the local gaming store, the second printing isn't coming out for another couple weeks. What came out for release events (last friday/saturday) was the second shipping of the first printing.
