This development should liven things up a bit!

Nick make it a case of beer instead of water and you will have 3/4 of the field gunning for 9th place.

Come on Nick.  You can definitely come up with something better than a case of water.  Floral Spuzzums, Sorrow's Path's and Carnival of Souls have been handed out to the 9th place finisher at my events.  You need something truly awful and memorable (read: completely and utterly useless, but rare.)  You could totally use the case of water...

4 Foil Mudhole sounds awesome. Definitely my next 9th place prize.

4 Foil Mudhole sounds awesome.  I think I'm going to run that as the next 9th place prize at my event.

Come on Nick.  There are awesome oddities and awful rares that are demanding attention right now...

Definitely not.  What beats 4 foil Carnival of Souls?  Or a playset of Floral Spuzzums signed by James Q. Hangley?

If this becomes a pole, my vote goes towards One With Nothing, for the simple fact of how ironic the name is.

Do the Thirst for Knowledge really belong on the list? At least they can be played with... I know I would use mine if I won that.

Looks like we will have at least three, maybe four, maybe five(!) from Northern Virginia at this thing.  We might even bring some Standard players with us.

Dear Mr. Coss,
Since this event is a few days before my birthday, can we celebrate by drinking the ceremonial wine?  If not can there be a side tourney involving people challenging me to a grill chese off/snapple drinking contest. I love snapple. The prize for either event will be a foriegn foil frantic search. Provided this happens.

Unfortunately, because I'm holding sanctioned tournaments here, and there will be a wide variety of people, there can be no alcohol at the tournament.  Any gatherings that may happen afterwards on the other hand...

Nick Detwiler, I'd like to replace our bet from Facebook last night with the following, as it costs about the same but is much more fun:

If the Yankees win the World Series (unlikely), I will purchase and wear a Yankees hat for the duration of the NYSE IV in December.

If the Phillies win the World Series (a near certainty), you will purchase and wear a Phillies hat for the duration of the Philly Open IV in November.

I figure its more fun for us to have to wear the opposing team's hat at a tournament in that city.

Does that work for you?  I cross-posted this on the forums for each tournament.

Dear Mr Coss,
This event is being held in the same place where I recieved a warning for an attempt of putting something on the table. The events leading up to it was an alpha strike that would kill my friend pete who then proceeded to call me nuts. I then stood up and said no pete these are nuts.
With that being said, i believe there is a vending machine of snapple in the location as well as an optimally big parking lot where multiple people could partake in this said snapple drinking.

Vinny, I got a good laugh out of that.

And yeah, it would be Toke for Knowledge at that point.  Given some of the stoners that I know, I don't think that would be a very good spell...

Considering this event is only 3 days before my birthday, I want in on some of these birthday drinking shenanigans... After I win my Lotus, that is.

I completely forgot they existed... They never play on Pandora, my number one source for music anymore lol. I'll have to revisit youtube to get some action from them.
