Hello everyone

I have a rather odd question. Take for instance the card hymn to tourach:

Target player discards two cards at random.

Say for some reason I would target myself (for example with a reanimator deck, to get creatures in my graveyard). How should I discard? Can I look at my cards when I choose them? Should my opponent pick the cards? ...

greetings

There isn't really a set protocol for this to my knowledge. I've seen it done both by putting the cards on the table and rolling a die to pick the cards or just having your opponent pick the cards blindly from your hand. You, however, do not get to pick the cards that are discarded, because that is not random.

The recommended way to do this is to roll a die.  For whichever player is targeted.
