I assume you don't have on color moxen or lotus? If you do, run them of course.

I would take out an overgrown tomb and add another fetchland of some sort. I must be missing how you cast banefire; where do you get the red mana?

Demonic tutor seems very useful since you're already running black, and it can find a combo piece.

I'd try to find room to run some artifact (or artifact/enchantment) destruction. Damping matrix, although it isn't often played, completely hoses your deck. And chalice on 1, while not instantly fatal, is another big problem, and there are probably others. Plus it makes demonic tutor more useful and helps against key+vault.

Why do you run a banefire without any red mana sourcemakers?
Also cut the crypt and vault for a demonic and vampiric tutor and make the banefire a Tendrils.

the only issue with a ton of mana elves like priest are just too slow. when you draw into them mid combo they are useless unless you have nettle or the other tap 3 elves guy. birchlore ranger gets you the colored mana you need, and ranger speeds up the deck as well. instead of bane fire, grapeshot is just as good or better. and summoners pact and skullclamp are some cards to look at as well.

Unrestrict: Gush, Flash, Frantic search, fact or fiction (probably), and burning wish if it doesn't suck now.

this may be the last time you hear the boogie song.

Why is that? He runs Concordant Crossroads for haste, so he should be able to tap said mana elves immediately, no? The lack of red mana was probably overlooked when he made his mana base.

but crossroads 1) isn't searchable by summoners pact, 2) isn't an elf and 3) doesnt do much on its own. I think the best build of elves the only creatures your worried about tapping for mana either come out first turn or don't need haste.
