2/21 Brooklyn NY Timetwister Tournament results

We had 15 players, and went with 4 swiss rounds with a cut to top 8, this was decidedly a mistake and should have been 5 rounds cut to top 4, but I digress.

Lots of casual games and some side drafting, and a lot of oohing and awing of the Pro Tour coverage.  All and all a good day.

This was the first vintage tournament brooklyngamers has done, and we'll be doing another soon, thanks to everyone that came out!

I think two of the Spell Pierce should be Tezzeret himself.

why seal of primordium over natures claim?

chalice for 1? having a perm on the table helps?  gettign it out of the way early to play more later on?

i would think spell snare, instant speed and one less mana cost would tip the balance in nature claims favor.

The answer is simple: we built the deck in December.  A more helpful answer can't be provided because we didn't even know Ryan was going to the tournament until he called me and said he was in t8.  Presumably, Ryan felt no need to change what isn't broken; it lead him to 4-2 in the Blue Bell Game Day (losing to me r1 w/ dredge and since altering his board to include dredge hate), and t4 in the tourney @ kings games last month.

I felt Seal of Primordium was better against Sphere of Resistance/Trinisphere and as an enchantment it helps pump Tarmogoyf.

Hey thanks. The maindeck is pretty much set in stone unless the metagame changes in some big way. Sideboard may always be subject to tweaking; I'm pretty sure I'm getting rid of Greater Gargadons.
