Coming up this weekend we have a pair of events.  First up is Saturday Night Vintage, which will be held at Mark's Comics.  First place prize is a Volcanic Island, with potential upgrades dependent upon the number of entrants.  Registration for this event will be at 5pm, with round one beginning at 5:30pm.

Sunday features the return of N.Y.S.E. Lite's to Comicbook Depot.  That event is also in the announcment forum, so I'll refrain from reposting all the information - the important stuff is that it's a $15 LoA tournament with registration beginning at 11, and round one beginning at 12 noon.

I hope to see you all there!!!

I took down tonight's weekly tourney with the standard Snake City Vault (with a slightly different sideboard) edging out Greg's Elephant Oath.  Good games Greg, i had to win a match this year sometime you know,  Wink.   Sir James 'Dipset' Hangley wasn't there to beat me like usual, so this was my time to win,  Very Happy

Prize was credit i turned into 40k stuff, so good time.  Sorry i can't make it tomorrow to Depot guys, damn real life obligations and such, if i could be in two places at once i sure would be.  See you all next Saturday though.

On Saturday we have a Mark's Comics Saturday Night Vintage tournament.  1st place prize is going to be two non blue duals (I'll have the prizes confirmed tomorrow.) Second place, and all further prizes, are dependent upon the number of entrants.  Registration on Saturday starts at 5pm, with round one starting promptly at 5:30pm.

I also announced another N.Y.S.E. Lite for December 12th - all the necessary information is in the forum.

EDIT: Prize support for Saturday's Vintage tournament is confirmed as a Taiga and a Plateau to first, with second place being added dependent upon the number of entrants.

We have another Saturday Night Vintage tournament coming up this weekend at Mark's Comics.  Registration is at 5pm, with round one starting at 5:30pm.  Entry fee is $10, with 15 proxies allowed.  Depending on the number of entrants, first place will either be a Volcanic Island, or two non blue duals (Plateau + another dual to be determined later.)

We also have an N.Y.S.E. Lite this Sunday at Comicbook Depot.  First place prize is 2x Underground Sea's (guaranteed at 14 entrants.)  Additional prizes will be added depending upon the number of entrants.  There will be a side event as well - Depot recently purchased another Vintage collection, and has both blue dual lands and Force of Wills that we can use as prize support.

Registration is at 11am, with round one beginning promptly at 12 noon.  Entry fee is $15, with 15 proxies allowed.  Deck registration sheets will not be in use.  All the contact information is in a separate thread for this tournament, conveniently located in the Tournament Forums.

So, come on down to Comicbook Depot, play some Vintage, and hang out with friends...

Matt, thank you for the Crusade...

That being said, a quick announcement: I am going to be going to Dave Feinstein's tournament at Die Hard Games this Saturday.  There will be Saturday Night Vintage this week at Mark's.  Depending upon the number of entrants, first place prize will either be a Plateau or a Volcanic Island.

I'm also going to be putting up a tournament announcement for one final N.Y.S.E. Lite on January 2nd, the week before the Grudge Match.  Given the packed calender for January, it will be the only N.Y.S.E. Lite during that month.

Due to the plethora of awesome tournaments that have started off 2011, the first weekly Vintage tournament of 2011 won't be until 1/22/11 (Saturday Night Vintage at Mark's Comics.)

Prize for that event will be a dual, though I'm not sure what Mark has on hand at the moment, so I can't say with any certitude until I know later in the week.

This weekend we have two events.  First up is Saturday Night Vintage at Mark's Comics.  Entry fee is $10, 15 proxies are allowed and registration begins at 5pm for a 5:30 pm start.  First place is a Revised Volcanic Island, with scaling prize structure.

Next up is another N.Y.S.E. Lite held on Sunday at Comicbook Depot for a Library of Alexandria.  All the details for that event are in this forum under the 1/23 N.Y.S.E. Lite announcement.

Hope to see you all this weekend!

This Saturday is going to be the release for Mirrodin Besieged, and it's also going to be another night for Saturday Night Vintage at Mark's Comics.  Registration begins at 5, with round one beginning at 5:30.  First place prize is a Taiga/Plateau depending on the number of entrants.

If you've got duals, or other Vintage staples that you're looking to sell, please drop Mark a line, as we're nearly through all the duals that we had picked up.

See everybody there!

This weekend's Saturday Night Vintage, along with the Bloomsburg Vintage event, look to be the first tournaments run since the creation/institution of the Vintage Rankings system.  At 8-15 players, it looks as though the k-value for the event will be eight points.  If we hit 16 players, the k-value may be upped to 16 points.

The k-values for the events are not set in stone yet, but this is the information that I have at moment, and am operating with.

I've been in touch with Brian Paskoff about sending all past N.Y.S.E. results in to be counted and it looks as though they're all going to be put in the system.  I will be in touch with Mat DeVito regarding N.Y.S.E. Lites to see if the records for past Lites have been saved.  If they have, I'll have them sent as well.

I'm pretty sure that he is back in the U.S. given that he asked me if I was going to be at Marks tonight.  If you need a ride to the event, I may be able to get you there, though I wouldn't be able to get you back...

BTW, if you're looking for some Axis and Allies, tomorrow night (post Vintage) might be a good time for it.

Mark couldn't find the Taiga/Plateau, which meant that the prize for the event changed at the last minute to a Scrubland and credit.  We lost two of the 14 that we had because of it, so 12 played in this event.

At the end of the day Greg Fenton's Tidespout Oath won.  Greg's maindeck, I believe, was the same as Paul's last Tyrant Oath list.  Greg beat Andrew Zivny's Keeper deck (Tom Dixon's list) in the finals.  Congratulations Greg!!!

Saturday the 12th is Blue Bell Game Day, so there will be no weekly Vintage at Mark's.

Weekly Vintage will return on 2/19.  Prize for that event, and all future events, is uncertain, as I'm out of duals and so is Mark.

Next Sunday we have an N.Y.S.E. Lite at Comicbook Depot.  All information for that event can be found in this forum.  I hope to see you all there!

Spoke with Ralph and asked if he was interested/thought the rest of you guys would be.  I have nothing scheduled at the moment, but if you'd like, I can schedule an event for that Sunday.

It would be a smaller event, obviously.  Please speak with whomever you're coming with - two events a weekend haven't generally fared well for me, but if you guys are going to play, I'll schedule it.

I'd do an event the next day, but might it be possible to do a slightly later start?  The night before usually wipes me out which makes it hard to wake up 'early' the next day.

We could aim for a 1pm start, with 12 reg.  I don't think I can get Alan to run it much later than that.  On the flip side, the PA guys may be looking for it to be earlier, so that they can get back home before it's too late.  Remember that they have a drive between 2-3 hours tacked on to whenever the last guy from each car finishes up.

That being said, I'm fine with whatever everybody decides.

Yeah, i mean, i am in no way a consensus myself, i was just saying what i find to happen, given the day after an 'after party'.

I mean, i will probably be there either way, so don't go by me really.

I'm pretty sure either 11/12 or 12/1 would be fine for us PA guys. No matter how bombed we all get at the afterparty, we still have to be out by the hotel's check-out time, which would be 12 at the latest.

Most likely we'd stay at the hotel closest to Club TGI Friday's. About how far is that from where you hold the Lite tourneys?

About 40 minutes

But it's 40 minutes in the right direction - back towards NYC.  Depot is also less than 5 minutes away from one of the parkways that you'll need to be on in order to get back home - the Southern State.

A few quick announcements:

1.  Mark bought a playset of 40 Revised duals, and we're going to be playing for some of them tomorrow night.  If you need Seas, Trops, Tundras, or others, give the store a call and talk to Mark, he is selling duals in addition to giving them away as prize support.

2.  It looks like we're going to have an awesome turnout for tomorrow's event.  I have spoken to some of the old school Vintage crew from 2002-2003, and a few of them are going to be making an appearance.

3.  If anybody needs to borrow a deck for the event, I still have two decks available - Dredge and Cobra Storm.

I'll be there right around 5:15, and while I won't be playing, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there...
