This was spoiled on the Daily MTG Tweeter : http://twitter.com/dailymtg/statuses/11380753118The mana cost is very steep but the "Discard your whole hand" and "cast up to six non-land cards for free" clauses look like they have some potential for abuse ?

creatures that cost a lot, but can't be tinkered, and have no real way to protect themselves don't see play in modern vintage. they never connect.

Fancy effect. Wrong card type. Make that a sorcery or instant and you might have something.

Seems strictly win-more in the decks that can support it.

He has flying so you can fly over most blockers.
He seems best in a Belcher list to me. Basically you could Ritual this guy out on turn 1 and then swing turn 2 hoping to flip Belcher/Bargain/Yawg mana or other stuff.

He seems best in a Belcher list to me. Agreed. Now, does Belcher actually want him? If it does, does he make it competitive?

He's a good target for Shallow Grave/Corpse Dance. Maybe Magus of the Jar.dec will resurface with this guy.

Unlikely. Isn't Emrakul strictly better with those cards? Sac 6 perms, take 15 damage...oh, and you can't target my guy.

Can Emrakul be in your graveyard?

He's kind of ridiculous in reanimator, although he isn't necessarily better than the other options. Mainly, I think it depends on the build and the metagame. He dies to stuff like Swords.
But if he hits the opponent, you remove all your lands and stuff from play, ditch your hand (including any large creatures to reanimate), and then (assuming half the revealed cards are land) you can play a fatty, disruption, and a reanimation spell, or whatever. If you can get another bomb off the reveal, that's probably game, and revealing anything that isn't 4 or more lands is probably putting you in a very good position to win.
Also he's not that difficult to hard cast if it comes to that, which can often be relevant. And he'll usually be a 3 (sometimes 4) turn clock, which is not that bad when you consider that every time he hits, even if the first reveal doesn't kill them, you get to cast any discard effects and non-counterspell disruption...etc., which gives him more reach.
In storm combo or belcher he seems very good as an alternate path to victory.
He's not better than any of the other Oath creatures, though.
I think he's pretty interesting.

I don't think that this would work in Vintage, but hitting one or more of the new Eldrazi off this guy would be insane! You would get the four cards or extra turn because he allows you to cast them!

Can Emrakul be in your graveyard? Yes, it's a triggered ability.

Maybe this guy and Greater Gargadon could make a viable Bitter Ordeal deck.

Why does every card in this set suck in everything except limited?

Or you could just play Sadistic Sacriment Counterability is very relevant. For all intents and purposes, Ordeal will not be countered and you'll get at least their Time Vault/Yawg Will/Strip Mine.
