Do you guys buy online, or locally?

I prefer supporting my local shop, but they just don't carry some products.  I'm picky about my dice and card sleeves in particular, and they don't carry either.  I did some shopping around for my dice and bought a lot of stuff online through some dice-manufacturing websites.  If anyone is curious, I can look it up again.  They were awesome and cheap to boot.

I'm really at a loss on where to find sleeves.  I love Dragon shields as my deck sleeves of choice -- they last longer than any other sleeve and are ultra-durable.  They feel different than any other sleeve I've encountered, much thicker.  I love them so.

I want to buy a bunch of dragon shields in-bulk for future tournaments (I like using new sleeves in tournaments and old sleeves for proxy decks), but haven't decided on a website.  Some websites offer a pretty good variety, but have outrageous shipping costs.

Where do you shop?

I stay as local as I can with everything.  I got dice way back in the day at my local store (Alternate Universes), they sell pretty much every variety of sleeves, and have most of the cards I want for reasonable prices.  If my local store doesn't have the cards I need then I can usually get them from Nick Coss who could be considered a card store by himself with the inventory he has.

As far as Dragon Shields are concerned, I heard that they were stopping production for some time to try to fix the problem that they had with sleeves being varying sizes even within a single box.  That is probably the reason that shipping is expensive or it may be that people bought out all the shops selling Dragon Shields for reasonable prices and left only the stores with outrageous prices untouched.

Does Nick Coss carry card sleeves?

I didn't know that about Dragon Shields, I will be ordering some online asap in that case.

I know he has some but I'm not sure which types.  AU definitely has/had some Dragon Shields but I'm not sure if they have any left.  If you want them its a safe bet to go online since they seemingly stopped shipping them to local shops a couple months ago.

I just ordered a bunch of boxes off Gathering Grounds.  I was only interested in Green or Black Sleeves (both are easy on my eyes), and they just happened to have good shipping prices for bulk buys and some green dragon shields.  I'm happy.  Smile

TYVM for the info.

Online as much as possible in an attempt to spite my local shops.

On a more serious note:  home depot has an aluminum briefcase that locks and comes with a carry strap.  It has a clothish inner liner and resembles a briefcase...$20.  I saw this same item advertised on eBay as a magic case for $50!

I purchased mine in the store an did not see it on the home depot website...but I know it's still in my local store with all the other toolboxes

just google aluminum briefcase toolbox and it should come up for around $25 somewhere.  I will post a pic of mine when I get home.  I beats my previous case: a leather tennis bag.

Yeah except that it locks, has a carry strap, has a cloth liner, and comes with dividers.

I currently have 7 4-pocket binders(stacked), a 500 count box, 8 deck boxes, the mailing tube my playmay is stored in, and another small plastic box in there.

how sore is your shoulder at the end of the day?

on topic though: i get sleeves from empiregamesonline.net if my local shop doesnt carry them.  they are the only place i have found with reasonable prices for perfect fits, which my local shop doesnt even carry.
