For starters, I’d like to say thanks to all the players who made it out to Brothers Grim to play Vintage yesterday.  We had 25 show up, which was pretty solid considering there was a local area PTQ and additional competing local events.

The Complete Metagame Breakdown:

Drains:
Tezzeret: 5

Workshops:
MUD Stax: 5

Bazaars:
Dredge: 2
Euro Madness: 1

Combo:
TPS: 4
Elves: 1

Null Rods:
Noble Fish: 2
Dark Times: 2
Goblins: 1

Oath:
Elephant Oath: 2

The metagame at this tournament was a three headed monster, as Shops and Tezzeret both made up 20% of the field, with TPS variants comprising an additional 16%.  The Null Rod pillar made up 20% of the metagame, with Dredge clocking in at 8% and Euro Madness making an appearance.

N.Y.S.E. X is just around the corner.  I hope to see everyone again soon!

Sorry to see Charles was apparently not in Charge yesterday...

Also it looks like Jake Gans has taken the lead in the NYSE PoY race! I say we all celebrate this remarkable achievement by signing his arm at Blue Bell on Saturday!

Charles may not have been playing but buster hymen was. And he busted up the side event while playing austins virginity oath. Lol
I dominated the side event after switching decks with Austin. I played round 1 loose. Misplays made by myself were a mull to 4 without looking at my cards vs belcher. (Yes I did have force and bluecard). All in all I wasn't upset by my preformance in the main. I wasn't prepaired for tezz's new best friend trygon predator.

I am glad Greg won the Sportsmanship prize. I played him in the Swiss and couldn't have hoped for a nicer opponent, although a first turn Sphinx of the Steel wind isn't the kindest play to make. Luckily, Spell Pierce can't hit Duplicant.

I'm psyched to see I have 9 points for player of the year!

I didn't realize I'd played any Vintage this year.

I miss it. Sad

Where's the Jace in Jake's list? I mean I'm pretty sure you cut Bazaar for that guy right?

When you're done winning your millions in Vegas, you should come to another tournament.  I'm looking to hold a Lotus tournament in August, hopefully the third week of the month.  I'll post the information for this event as soon as it's confirmed.

congrats to the top 8!

Don't worry buddy.  There's always the next one.

I've known Greg since 1999 and I can tell you that he has always been that nice.

Where's the Jace in Jake's list? I mean I'm pretty sure you cut Bazaar for that guy right?

In all seriousness, doesn't Ancestral Recall, or Brainstorm, have a spot in Dredge somewhere?  They both read "draw 3" and they both cost one mana.  Just a thought.

Jake got serious and cut the Jace.  Not everybody can be Travis LaPlante.

Jake doesn’t open on Leyline – he plays City of Brass, and then Pithing Needle on Bazaar.

No, seriously.
