The Nick Coss bus will be present, and by present I mean 75% of the top 8.  We will also educate the 90% of you New Englanders on how to drive more then 45 minutes to an event.

Nick,

Really glad you guys are coming out!  Maybe PA can toss its hat in the ring and make this a 3-way dance.

On a related note, I think you're the only major figure in Vintage who I've played against but never beaten.  Enjoy that while it lasts.

Chris, I definitely recognize more with the PA crowd then the NY crowd, I'm all for Philadelphia being it's own distinct region.  Make it happen!

BTW Yankees AND Red Sox suck.  That is all.

I've heard people say that New York in 2010 is the new be-all, end-all of Vintage.
Sorry to burst your bubble but OBV Europe (BoM, Eur0Vino) is the be-all, end-all of Vintage...

I should let you small fries worry about who's second best, but as a Dutchie I couldn't resist chiming in on this here thread.... Maybe it's time for you guys to come put up or shut up and attend a real event across the pond.....

I don't like the fact that I have to agree with you Marske but this time you're right exept for the fact that YOU should pack Very Happy. They definatly should fly in sime european players to get their ass whooped professionaly. Maybe then they'll realise the written rule that American's are actually behind on Europe if it concerns Vintage!

Make an invite for a select European players and we will prove/back up this statement!

The last time a European attended a New England event, I recall winning 1st place myself.  More significantly, I also remember him losing to Kithkin.  Let that sink in for a second.  KITHKIN.  Now take a minute to fully come to grips with it.  KITHKIN. One more time, just to make sure everyone in Europe hears it clearly:

KITHKIN.

...No, I think we'll be just fine here on the cutting edge of Vintage in New England, thanks.  But tell you what.  If any Europeans want to come over, we'll let you play in our tournament if one of you can beat my casual Kobold deck.

The Time And The Place

Fellow New Englanders, it's time for us to ante up our quarters, we have a new challenger.  On Saturday, August 28, 2010, a tournament will happen in Hadley, Massachusetts.

Is there any reason why we can't do something informal at GenCon?  I'd be up for some regional battling there, for sure.

Now that that is out of the way I can play Hype-Man for my favorite team when they are posted.

I hope your favorite team would be either N.Y.S.E. or R&D.  Anybody else and we better talk.

I'll be sure to promote this event at N.Y.S.E. X on the 31st.  The way it looks now, it is going to be well supported by my New York guys.

Seriously, don't bring that up.... How Kithkin beat me sporting TPS I'll never know, to be fair I think she nutdrawed me on multiple crusades into me running out Necro... Lame excuse of the week: I did have a jetlag at that time !

Enough of that, if we're judging by individual performance you may be right, but the sheer epic awesomeness that are the big European Events trump just about everything...

OH SHIT.  I'm sorry to tell everyone this, but I think we might need to call off the tournament.  I just finished talking to a potential member of Team New England, and he agreed to come onboard for us.  To call him a "ringer" would be a bit of an understatement.  Did we get Jon Finkel?  Nope.  Did we pick up Kai Budde?  The hell with him.  Did we outbid Miami for Lebron James?  No way.

New York and Pennsylvania, look upon the first member of Team New England and tremble.  Your doom awaits. He's spent countless hours on MWS training for exactly this moment.  He has honed his mastery of psychological warfare to a razor's edge; his taunts and insults can end a game faster than Time Vault.  He has put more time into testing on MWS than Smmenen has put into resolving Brainstorm.   He is far stronger in reality than any story you might have heard about him.  The time... is now...

All is lost.  Words cannot do justice to epic beating Sephiroth is going to lay on the other regions.  But maybe pictures could help explain it:

Guys, it's over.  I guess show up if you want, but there's really not much point.

Mdenny and I are going to have to work on getting some Black Materia to offer in the prize pool, though.  Wait, Black Materia?  When did I hear about that?  Must've been when I joined the Paragons of Vintage 5 years ago.  Paragons?  How did I join the Paragons?  That's right, I didn't need to worry about it, because...

I should be able to do this, assuming I can get from Woodstock to Hadley overnight.

Not sure what region I'd rep.  Given the location and the attendance of at least myself and dialanov, and probably GI, can we have a Hadley team?

Timed just after classes start. Man. Otherwise, I would love to go. Yes, I might live in Pittsburgh, but I'd still represent New England.

On the other hand, the advent of Sephiroth means the event is already decided.

Unless...
