Still waiting for final confirmation from the mall owners but they mentioned the old collectibles and cards store near JC Pennies which is vacant right now. I am going in on Monday to try and find out for sure so I will post an update. @ Matt, are you still comming on wednesdays? I may be able to make the one before the tournament if you wana catch a couple of games.

I tried a few times, but it was literally only myself and a friend whom I brought. Too far of a drive to keep doing that without more support. I would come the Wed. before the tourney, but I have to take a final exam that night. I'll be around randomly before then, though. Do you still go on Tuesdays?

The proxy limit has been raised, the location has changed, and the storeowner or myself will be buying lots of cards so bring bring anything you are looking to sell or trade. Also we will work on organizing pizza delivery for those folks needing lunch.

Does it matter?
This tournament could be on the moon, without oxygen and New England would still just crap all over everyone else

Because they'd be dumb enough to go there, asphyxiate / freeze to death, and during the process defecate in their pantaloons? Sounds about right. No, it's just that Blue Bell is 15 minutes from my house and I'm lazy. PS I said pantaloons, and I meant it.

Blue Bell , Hadley , or even hell does not matter! After Pa shows its the best in all the land, all the ne and ny vintage peeps will have no choice but to come play in Pa. Unless the beating is so bad they just stick to type 2. @Matt ...your the man!

Indeed you did win. Tho as I recall I was a mana short from a turn one win , so I drop oath as the safe play. All you did was top deck the win. Games one and two were very good tho, You are a fantastic player and it was a pleasure. I hope to play you again to see if I can't even up the score.

Was looking forward to making my vintage comeback but I probably can't make it here, maybe I will just throw some decklists at people in my stead.

So, unfortunate (or perhaps I should say fortunate) life obligations - AKA this is 7 weeks from my wedding, shit isn't all done yet, weddings are unreal expensive, vacation days are scarce due to said wedding and after wedding activities, etc - are going to prevent me from attending this. It was either this or Waterbury, and its been 18 months since a Waterbury and I feared I'd never have the chance to attend one. I am not going to miss this one.
Thankfully I expect to see all of you at that tournament, but unfortunately I won't be able to represent PA at this one. I know that we're sending a rather dangerous contingent of NE / Central PA ringers and I hope that Jeff and/or Mark will be able to make it from the voted team. I'm also really honored and wanted to say thanks for all those that voted for me. Whatever 3 people from PA show up, I have full confidence that they'll happily bring home whatever prizes you New Englanders are silly enough to put up for them to take, like candy from the proverbial baby.
Teams and so on aside, anyone from PA who is going that wants to discuss strategy headed into this thing, PM me, IM me, whatever.
This is an important tournament for Vintage. I really wanted to go. New England should have, and must have, a vibrant Vintage community. Some of the community's best minds and best players reside there. I wish the TO and all the players nothing but the best from this. I think it'd be awesome to make this a recurring thing across locations / venues (so the next one in NY at an NYSE, followed by one in Philly, and so on). Perhaps if this goes as well as I think it will, we can explore that option with the appropriate TOs?

Just as well, this saves you the embarrassment that would have accompanied being mowed down along with your fellow PA players. My plan for the Grudge Match series is to initially have one tournament in each of the three principal locations, NE, NY, and PA, and then whichever region has the most contest wins gets to host the next one after the first three. But speaking of the Grudge Match. Many of you have probably noticed the war of words brewing between Travis LaPlante and I, which I won with the linguistic equivalent of a tactical nuke. Well, the time for talk will soon be at an end. And that's where you all come in. Originally Travis proposed a bet that, if he managed to earn more match points at Waterbury, he would get to moderate TMD for the day. Originally I felt okay with this, since the chances of that happening are about as likely as me getting hit by a bolt of lightning on a clear day while indoors and holding a winning lottery ticket. However, my obligations to the community prevent me from exposing it to even such infinitesimal risks. Also, I'd want to demand something of equal value from Travis, like forcing him to complete a triathlon if I got more match points than him. So, the new terms are these. At the Grudge Match, anyone signed up for the tournament will be allowed to suggest the terms of the bet between Travis and I for Waterbury. At the end of the Swiss, all of the feasible* suggestions will be read aloud and all players still in the building can vote for their favorites. The top 3 or so will then be posted on TMD for the community at large to vote on. Whichever terms win the vote on TMD will be the terms of the DA/LaPlante Grudge Match. *Because I know some of you need to be reminded: Don't suggest stupid terms. Nothing that involves a substantial risk of bodily injury, nothing that could result in trouble with the law, nothing that could result in serious financial exposure (more than ~$100), nothing else obviously stupid. Travis and I don't really hate each other. This is just another hook to drum up interest in the upcoming marquee events.
