I personally was leaning towards Lotus, Mox, Ponder. You'll still have WUU available to you after the ponder and there's a pretty good chance that you'll at worst hit a relevant mana source that will allow you to still drop the Oath. Even without a mana source there are a number of business spells in the deck that can be cast off the mana available.

Almost half the cards in your deck are dead or close to dead at this point, though, so there's a pretty good chance you won't see anything relevant when Pondering.

2 main, but I think I boarded down to 1. Do you like Jace in the Stax matchup? If I can get it going, it's obviously solid, but the 4cc cost and susceptibility to creatures makes me wonder about how often that can happen.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.

As a shops player (I usually play Mono R Stax, not MUD), I think I would be pretty happy if someone went Lotus, Pearl, Oath (no land) against me.  I side out Lodestone Golems against Oath, and side in Jester's Caps, Gargadons, and extra Duplicants.  I can establish a very decent board position without ever playing a creature.  An opponent cracking Lotus for Oath and nothing else is very acceptable to me.

If I win game 1 and am on the draw, I sometimes board out both.  Resolving Jace on the draw is challenging.  On the play, its obviously a lot easier, especially if you have Drains to power into it early.  I really need to sit down and play a lot of games to determine how many I like and if it should change, play v draw.  The challenge is that Shop players can't seem to settle on an build that they think is best.  Dammit Shop players, get your shit together so I have something to target!

Keep, Lotus Pearl Go.

Force first threat (lodestone and spheres arent threats here) and emergency drain if they put together 2x null rod or rod and chalice 2 or tangle wire then null rod.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I agree this seems like the best line of play. Given the lack of land, what you need is tempo, so keeping mana available to play out your Oath once you have a land to stabalize with while eating up thier tempo with counterspells seems like the best play. Allow the Lodestone, Force Wire, allow Spheres, Force Stack, etc.. you need to Force the 2nd Sphere though, or Risk getting locked out when you need to sack the Lotus to counter anything else.
