So I'm back, bitches, and though I won't be playing I'm totally down to make some custom proxies, volunteer to help out with the event, and generally bring the party.

Anyone in or around the Philly area making this a day trip? Shoot me a PM.

How could it possibly be a tough choice?

It is a tough choice as I have had plans for this day scheduled since May and it involves the other major "hobby / obession / whatever you call it" that I have in my outside of work existence. And, I already have an $80 front row ticket for it. Is it possible to do both? Not if I plan of winning.

Bauer, I understand that this may be a tough choice for you, but I'm telling you, this event is going to be unlike anything you've ever done.  One of my first real tournaments was a Waterbury 5 or 6 years ago.  Over 200 people showed.

I don't think 200 people will show to this one, but I would not be at all surprised if 150 showed.

Waterbury's were a staple of the tournament scene for a long time, and they helped establish and grow the original community.  They're rare now (though I hope that's not true going forward.)  If you can get your $80 back, it's worth it.  If you can't, and you decide to go another route, that's fine, but I really do think that you would be missing out.
