On my phone, apologies for the templating.
@Smmenen
Really?  Well it seems I must have overstated how much Jesse thought through the situation.  I stand by my analysis of the potential lines of play though.  Taking Tendrils was immediately bashed in the GGSlive chat, since AJ so clearly had access to Will, I guess I tried to give Jesse the benefit of the doubt.  Perhaps he made some semi-conscious supporting decision, like saying to himself "well I have Force and his isn't active, so now I only need to Force Will or Twister (or Tinker, I suppose)."

@Stormanimagus
I think you're overstating it.  My analysis depended on Jesse outthinking AJ to get AJ's Lotus, Grim, Will, and Tendrils into the yard, which apparently may not have been intentional.  Taking Tendrils IS an enormous misplay if AJ just draws Will and passes, avoids Duress for 1+ turn, gets a blue card to turn on Force, and then wins through Will.  Grim, Lotus, Will, Force, Force, Lotus, Grim [Dark Rit] [Mox] [Ancestral/Preordain] [whatever] Tendrils is a straightforward win.  Steve is right that at the level the players were thinking on at the time taking Tendrils is wrong.  However running out Will thereafter without protection is at least as wrong.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Does it matter what he Imperial Seals for? I mean besides like 5 cards that he actually wants to draw I would fateseal and bottom any card except a 2nd Imperial Seal.
It DOES matter what he Imperial Seals for, because if it's something too good you're guaranteed to fateseal, thus decreasing his changes of drawing that possible bomb naturally after the fateseal. IF Imperial Seal was his only possible play on that turn and he feels like he has to cast it for some reason, it is better to get something like a cantrip or protection spell that isn't a game-changer if it's fatesealed, and doesn't suck if you for some reason let him decide to keep it. As I explained in my post above, that way he would potentially increase his chances of naturally drawing a bomb (like Timetwister, Necropotence, Ancestral Recall, Gifts Ungiven, Tinker, Memory Jar, Sensei's Divining Top, etc.) to dig him out of his position. Does that not make sense?

@ dubdub

                             I did know that he would go all in on that yawg will, which i assumed he imp sealed for, i am not a name and i thought that he would think that i was awful for taking the tendrils and go all in, and he did. from my perspective it was the best possible play because even if he does have 2 getting his lotus will,grim and 1 tendrils would make it a lot harder to win for him, i dont know if you saw the match, but i did not draw ONE business card the entire match, not one card that draws cards, or anything like that...just disruption and land.  plus he had active many crypt at the time so it was at least some kind of win condition, blowing his will out/ cutting his decks ways to win in half (even if i thought his only outs were twist/tinker, or even if he did have another tendrils) combined with the crypt put him on a relative clock, albeit an awkward one seemed optimal to me with the cards i had, and the cards i knew he had

Ok, that was what I had thought at the time, but Steve seemed to represent something different above.  I did see the match, albeit from the coverage and not live.  I do recall that you drew quite poorly (and that it wasn't the result of a misused early cantrip or anything).  Did you consider taking Force instead of Tendrils there?  It's a less obvious 'mistake', so it doesn't telegraph the trap, and it erases the chance of AJ drawing Will and passing, and then drawing a blue card (randomly, since his deck below Will was unknown) and winning through your Force.  Were you content with trying to have a second Force or additional Duress before he found a blue card if he did draw-and-pass?

They reorganized how articles are stored on their website, but this particular article is no longer on the Channel-Fireball site for some reason. Here's a link to all articles by Owen:

I spoke to Lucas Siow today, he'd had an article published on CF right before they relaunched the site, and he said basically all the contributing writer's articles are MIA from the new site.  Not sure if they're going to come back or are gone forever.  Owen's article is one of those that may be lost at the moment, hopefully not forever.

What's strange is that Owen had written 2 articles for CF, and the other one is still present (an article about Jund in Standard). I suspect they'll get all of the content back up after a while. Sometime it just takes time to migrate content over if they switched platforms, blogs, or however they had everything stored before.

Speaking of lost reports, is AJ Sacher's report register anywhere after it was taken down from scg?  That was a good read.

Nope. Didn't work for me at all. I guess we'll just have to wait for the man if he's generous enough to repost his article, or if the site will fix itself over time.

And now I've also republished Owen's companion/follow-up article here (also with his approval, as it has dissappeared from wherever it was published before):
http://www.eternal-central.com/?p=1023

That's my favorite thing he's ever written, so check it out if you get a chance!

Animated Mud, there are very few tournaments here where I live. The only two that took place last year were on weekends I was away. Sad. But well have another tournament in two weeks.

Redspecter, of the eleven players, only two were newbies, but they had really tough armies.
