Having only 10 players show up for a 15 proxy Vintage event makes it difficult to even want to write this report.  Regardless, we played 4 rounds of swiss and cut to T4.  The standings after round 4 were as follows.

9 - John Parriott (B/U/G)
9 - Carl Van Laethem (Espresso Stax)
9 - David Schmidt (Dredge)
7 - Alex Smith (Jace/Vault - Owen's deck)
7 - Brian Grewe (Jace/Vault - Owen's Deck)
6 - Charles Flores (Dredge)
6 - Daniel Bragg (Steel City Vault)
3 - Matt Johnson (Jace/Vault - Owen's deck)
3 - Scott Fathauer (Mono Red Storm)
0 - Chris McLees - B/R Workshops

T4 Semis
Alex def. John
Carl def. David

Finals
Alex def. Carl

The overall quality of play was quite bad.  No, I take that back.  It was pathetic.  Here are some of the highlights and lowlights that I was involved in.

1. HIGHLIGHT - I get a bye in round 1.
2. LOWLIGHT - Round 2 my opponent didn't know that he would lose life by tapping his City of Brass to my Tangle Wire.
3. LOWLIGHT - Same round my opponent miscounts what he will have to sacrifice to my Smokestack and ends up sacrificing his board (including Crucible) with no lands in his hand while I was holding back a Workshop/Crucible.
4. LOWLIGHT - Round 3 - I allow (not pn purpose mind you) my opponent to have 2 V. Cliques in play for two turns.  After it was realized they were put into the yard.  At this point we are both at 1 life but my Maze of Ith stops his Dark Confidant from attacking and he loses during his next upkeep to DC.  I win that game but lose the match.
5. HIGHLIGHT - I defeat Alex Smith in round 4 to get into T4.
6. LOWLIGHT - My semi-final match was against Dredge.  Game 2 - I drop Leyline of the Void before turns and my opponent scoops because he has no sideboard and can't deal with it in his maindeck.  He never saw Leyline all day until our match.  WTF!
7. LOWLIGHT - Game 1 of finals - Alex drops an early Jace.  Soon after I play a Karn with 1 mana open. I animate Tangle Wire but forget to attack Jace.  Jace lives - I lose.

PROPS to the players who showed for the event.
SLOPS to everyone who bailed.

Advice to the players who showed (Including me) - THIS IS VINTAGE, LEARN HOW TO PLAY FUCKING MAGIC!

I will say that Espresso Stax is quite interesting.  Drawing Serum Powder when you are looking for a busniess spell really sucks but that was outweighed by the few times I took a Serum Mulligan and got the berries.

I had fun and am looking forward to being able to show up more often to these you should have included my poor play of not spell piercing your Ruby mid game that let you get a Lodestone into play, that was pretty bad on my part.

There were a lot of people that told you they would not be there when you posted the event.

August is a tough time for this.

Should be there for the next one unless it is the weekend of the 18th.

By a lot of people do you mean 3?  I only had a few people say they couldn't make it.  You need to start sharing what you're rolling.
