Contagion Clasp - 2
Artifact
When ~ enters the battlefield, put a -1/-1 counter on target creature.
4, T: Proliferate (You choose any number of permanents and/or players with counters on them, then give each another counter of a kind already there)
Uncommon

This seems too expensive for what it does normally, but it gives shop decks a way to fry Bob and lots of Fish creatures for 2 colorless, Pridemage for 6.  And it has the potential to create and endless tangle wire lock.  Does this have a home?

4 colorless is a very hefty activation cost since it can't be paid with Workshop mana.  The abilities are kind of interesting, but the activation cost makes it unusable.

Regardless of the activation, this is a very efficient way for MUD to kill annoying creatures like Dark Confidant, Goblin Welder, or Kataki.  It might be playable in the sideboard.

I'm fairly concerned \ intrigued about the keyword.  If there is a cheaper way to get that keyword to function, smokestack \ tanglewire get all the more ridiculous.

Metalworker builds, at least, have a new tool to take out Welders. Also "players with counters" sounds like poison counters to me. Hilarious.

Seems really good with Trike/Tangle Wire/Smokestack and it pimp smacks most good creatures. Now we just need Karn the Planeswalker (castable with shop mana and good enough to be played) and this thing probably becomes a staple.

I'd say it's castable if you don't use Null Rod.  You don't really need to use the ability super-fast anyways.

Thran Turbine was always an excellent card, but you would need more than just this card to make it useful.

Funny things to do with Chalice of the Void too, in response of an opponent's spell Smile But maybe just a win-more card for Shop.decks.

Yeah, exepct that doesn't work, Chalice won't have triggered. This little interaction has already been aroudn for years with various Mirrodin cards that add charge counters.

That won't work.  For example, you can't amp CotV@2 in response to Tinker and counter it.

I don't think I like this card because it seems bound for the sb right off the bat.  I wouldn't want to cast this when the only creature in play is my Lodestone.  The amping effect could be nice....or you might not have those cards in play, then what do you have?

For one more cc I'd rather play a card like Scarecrone, and I'd rather not play a card like Scarecrone.

Egads, at what cost?  I'm tapping multiple mana sources and Tangle only affects me 1 card less.  If I have multiple Tangles out I'd rather have a card to resolve that I can actually win with.  Let's not forget that roughly 2 of the 4 mana needed to activate this card is going to cost you 2 life each time.

Edit: Wagner=faster at Chalice explanations.  Woulda been nice though.
