I just saw these and they blew my mind!!

C'mon guys, how broken is this!! They can be played for free as soon as turn 1! You don't get blown out by Back to Basics or Wasteland, if you run all 5 you can get access to all colors you'd ever want (To cast Mountain Goats, Tarpan, Mogg Fanatic, Festering Goblin, Wandering ones) they all have wicked synergies  with the Onslaught Fetchlands and the new Zendikar Fetches.  Not to mention they can't be destroyed by Gorilla Shaman or Karn!

What do you guys think? Better then Moxen right ?!

How much play does Relentless Rats see?

Relentless Rats costs MANA to play and you are limited to resolving them depending on how much B mana you have. These cannot be countered or responded to, also you're forgetting the awesome interaction with THESE:




I see a huge Fastbond into Lands into Hedron crap Mill the opponent in one single turn deck becoming THE BEST IN THE FORMAT.....

Currently we are deeply into the Tank^(tm) at R&D to break this Combo WIDE open... Expect me to be rocking a couple of these at Waterbury!

Thank you for showing why the cards are bad. Fetch Land is clearly more powerful with Landfall cards and the only way to abuse Fastbond is with non-basic lands. Life and Limb only works on forests, so your mountains, plains, swamps and islands will be useless.

If you would like to play with Life and Limb and Earthsurge, I suggest you play with these cards instead:


Relentless Rats is very explosive with Korlash, Heir to Blackblade. Besides that, your Basic lands may not require mana and cannot be countered, but they are limited to 1 per turn UNLESS you are lucky enough to hit a fastbond in which case you will run out of gas too quickly. It all seems too conditional. These cards just do too little to warrant any deckspace. They are too fair for competitive play.

One vote to restore Soly to being able to post all over the place.  His posts make me laugh 97.9% of the time.  Soly doesn't bitch and moan when people post their amazing timetwister 1994 combos, he simply says "Doesn't work."  Almost all the time, the OP gets pissed at Soly, and starts the flames.  Also, telling people their pet deck is awful is not "mean".  In the real world, you get told your ideas suck pretty much every day, get used to it folks.

Anyway, I think for people like me and others who are new to TMD having threads like this is useful. Sounds stupid but people get intimidated when they read posts from "big names" in magic. Its good to show everyone has a sense of humor and isn't all about charts graphs and putting new ideas down.

Why don't you Admin/Moderator guys create a "Trashtalk" or "Humor" sub-forum where things like this can be put? We have it in our own local forum and it works great.
This way people don't get confused about how serious a post is meant. I mean, it should be obvious, but it seems some people don't get it.

About this thread.  The description of the Community Forums says "loosely moderated."  That allows for some judicious amount of humor and spam.  Even humor that at this point is getting really old since there are now three threads playing the same schtick, and even the first one wasn't great.  If you're looking for serious discussion, stick with the Eternal Forums that are "strictly moderated," where stuff like this would, in fact, trigger a warning.

About people's moderation complaints.  We already have a rule on bitching about moderation policy:  Do it via PM, not on the boards.  That rule hasn't been enforced as stringently as it used to be, but consider this notice that's now in full force again.  

About this ceaseless refrain that "TMD sux" from a handful about 6 people on the forums (who themselves aren't exactly the dictionary definition of relevance) and the folks in the #irc channel who were relevant some years ago.  If the content of your posts here continues to be limited to "TMD sux" or "TMD isn't relevant anymore" or "TMD is in decline because it doesn't meet my personal subjective preferences on [issue]," expect Full Warnings from now on.  Marske put it succinctly-- if you think TMD is seriously so bad, make constructive suggestions via PM or stop coming here.
