If you are going for authenticity on the era's BnR list, I believe that Mana Vault and Mana Crypt were not restricted at the time.  I know they were restricted in '99 when Urza's block was released.

well you may be correct, something ill dig into for the next one. Mana Vault seems like it was before that, As soon as I post the list I do not change it because it is not fair for people who do not check back here, so if we do another in the winter then I will fix it then. Thanks for the input though.

I'll prob be comming around for this, and I think we can safely say that we'll get 8 people to play for the Mox, I expect a good couple more than that based on the general level of interest after the last one.  I even bought some cards to use.

I dont know how i feel about Strip Mine, but I do think that a format like this gets boring fast if we don't make any changes.  We'll see how it affects deck construction.

@Chris - might be a good idea to have a couple ideas for the next Throwback tournament after this one. (like keep the same, Mirage block legal etc) and then the people that come to this event can vote on what the next one is.  That should help get the players more actively invested in the "throwback tournament scene."

Mastriano's the only person I know who can pick up chicks and win magic tournaments at the same time.

Strip mine should make Land Destruction viable, something that was missing from the last tournament. I can say with 100% certainty that strip mine was unrestricted at this time. It wasn't till wasteland was printed that strip mine became restricted.

I will be switching up the format for the Winter/Spring one. We will be including Mirage block and just bringing it up one block each time after that.  I have tried not to ignore the comments from the first one and this was the most common comment.

I do appreciate the interest and comments.

Thanks for the support Smile

Awesome event. I hope it goes well!

Just a question: How do the rules work? Do you follow modern rules, or are they old school as well?

The tournament is tomorrow and I've heard rumors of Paul Sculptini Mastriano making an appearance.  I have high expectations for this one. Hope to see you there.
