Hello everybody,

Last Sunday the Gameforce dutch vintage champs was organized again. This time the Gameforce itself was the battlefield. 39 player showed up to play six rounds of swiss. The results would determine the top 8. The last round was quite exiting because one person with a 4-2 record would be in. It seemed that winner of the match Tom Hens vs. Peter Reynders would be that lucky person but their match ended in a draw; Benjamin van den Broeck thus got in on the 8th place.

These are the final standings:
In the top 8 these matches were played:
Steve van der Bulck won against Benjamin van der Broeck
Gert Rammeloo won against Thomas Hendriks
David Martinez won against Richard Drijvers
Martijn van der Vaart won against Bram Patelski

Gert Rammeloo won against Steve van der Bulck
David Martinez won agains Martijn van der Vaart

David Martinez won the finals Gert Rammeloo

Meta-Breakdown
Quite some regular and a few creative decks were played in the event. This is the breakdown of the decks that were played:

9 Workshop decks
(5 MUD, 1 Uba stax, 1 aggro shop, 1 5-color stax, 1 red stax)

7 blue  key vault control decks
(1 bomberman, 1 ak/intuition, 4 predator tezz, 1 riddlesmith)
3 dredge
3 fish (1 GW, 1 selkie)
3 TPS
2 gush storm
2 snake city vault
Other: 2 card monte, elf combo, draw-4 combo, red aggro, hex depths, ANT, white weenie, Liquid lightning, madness, tempo thresh)

Funny fact
-The average amounth of matchpoints of the Belgian players was 8.2 the Dutch had an average of 7.5 point.
-In the finals a grand total of 2 pieces of power were played
Card most played maindeck: lodestone golem
Card most played sideboard: Leyline of the void
- Jace is a real vintage card (but we already knew that)
The finals were a Dutch-Belgian showdown; David was able to keep Dutch honor up: His homebrew iconic madness deck was able to swiftly handle the unpowered hexmage deck piloted by Gert.

Awesome, thanks for putting this up so fast. Seems like the BE crew gave us a run for the money but weren't able to win eventually!! Lets see if we can keep the title within our borders next year! Sadly I wasn't at the event to grab a couple of points for the NL side but oh well.

That madness list is a thing of beauty.

I'll look into it this evening! Thanks for noting (usually I make these with excel but when I typed this I only had wordpad available Smile)

Edit: I fixed the list, missing cards were added on the bottom.

Funny fact
-The average amounth of matchpoints of the Belgian players was 8.2 the Dutch had an average of 7.5 point.

Let's see if we can switch those numbers at the open Belgium Vintage Nationals. Smile

What was that date of that event again?

Not on my watch they won't. Very Happy

In hindsight I wish I volenteerd as a judge on this event.

I would have deckchecked David all day long.

Good man! Sadly I wasn't around to take away some of those BE points, I'll see what I can do on their home turf in Mol this weekend though...

Don't get your hopes up, you know where you belong: on the lower tables, you will be only there to make the difference in points even bigger in favor of the Belgian's Very Happy

I'm also pretty sure BB-G that in the last event we both played in I finished higher then you while you got your ass kicked by Art Ov War... Robrecht, you know we've never battled, you have no clue what you're getting yourself into here Razz, see you in Mol this weekend ?
