There is a good reason for this the strongest players in our metagame are combo control lovers.

The thing about Gush, is that instead of dominating the format. It has done nothing but diversify it to the extent that no two decklist are going to be exactly the same. Before the unrestriction of Gush and Frantic Search we had MUD destroying everything with pretty much the same decklist. Gush is and will be around for a while, and if it dominates like it did waay back when we had unrestricted merchant scrolls and so on, I myself will wonder what will be Wizard's stance on it. Surely they won't ever think about rebanning it at this point in time. Gush is great for avoiding Wasteland and Stripmine, so that is a blessing. Against Spheres.. not so much. Combo Control usually is one of the best decks in Vintage since we have the best engines to work with compared to Legacy. ANT and Belcher are the fastest decks we can run as far as turn one kills go. They aren't used enough to be considered a threat. Mana Drain, Spell Pierce and FoW in Blue decks keeps these from succeeding at high levels. The state of Gush is one that is going to go up, and down. Much like your lands will be when your playing your Gushes yourself.

You guys should probably take a look at the results from a recent tournament in Badalona. Gush decks destroyed the meta in this rather large event:

But there were only 6 workshop decks out of 65:
