New York players, the time has come! It's your opportunity to choose the team that will represent you in the upcoming New England vs. New York vs. Pennsylvania Grudge Match on January 8th.
The rules for voting are these:
1. You can only vote for Team New York if you are a New York player. You don't have to be planning to come to the Grudge Match, though.
2. To verify that all votes come from New York players only, the voting thread isn't a blind poll. Instead, to cast your vote, make a post with your choices. If you're not especially active in the New York Vintage scene, it might help to mention the area where you live, or a tournament in New York that you played in.
3. You can make up to 3 choices for the main team. The 3 players with the most votes will be the primary members for Team New York. You can only choose from the list of candidates below.
4. You can also vote for 3 additional "understudies" for Team New York. In case someone on the main team can't make it, one of the understudies will fill in for them. You can choose anyone you want to be an understudy, whether or not they're on the ballot for the main team. They do need to be a New York player though, and it would probably be good to ensure they're planning to go before voting for them.
5. The voting for the Grudge Match team will be open until January 6th. I’m extending it for all three regions to allow all players the most amount of time possible to determine the team. Happy voting!
The ballot for the main roster for Team New York:
Vincent Forino ("v4ino") Jake Gans (“GU3ST”) David Earley ("Yare") James Hangley ("forcethewill") Raf Forino Max Brown ("2nd lawl") Mike Egan (“Cruel Ultimatum”) David Lawrence ("Eastman") Tom Dixon (“Samoht”) Mike Bauer (“MikeKillJoy”) Greg Fenton (“Greg”) James "JP" Kohler ("JPFunk86")
I have included many of the players from the first ballot (while excluding myself.) If you are from New York, are going to be going to the Grudge Match II, and would like to be added to the ballot, please speak now or forever hold your peace…
Additionally, if you’re on the ballot, and believe that you’ll be unavailable to make the tournament, please make mention of it now, so that the roster of candidates can be adjusted.
Happy voting, and may the best team win!

I'm not going to vote, but I would like to point out that for a guy with TWO top 8's at GenCon, Vinnie Forino doesn't get much respect. He didn't poll well in the first team vote, and I'd like to see him poll better here. Don't forget all the other top 8's and wins that he has put up either.

A vote for Vinnie Forino is a vote for freedom and America! You don't hate America do you?

I thought about voting for him, but I feel like he does better in a different metagame that happens in the NY/PA/NE area. Tom seems to always make the Top 8 or better when he plays. Raf and Jimmy were almost auto picks for me.

are you trying to say that playing a deck that is completely sub optimal in every way shape or form is never a good idea. I agree. I dont actually know how to play that deck.

You joke, but I'm sure that if they tried, they could get Luigi out of retirement. Or they could just have Mama Forino cook a nice meal for everybody that she plays, and get concessions like that...

Alright, I lied. I will be voting.
My vote:
Main Team 1. Raffaele Forino 2. Vincent Forino 3. James Hangley
Alterantes 1. Jake Gans 2. Michael Egan 3. Max Brown
My apologies to those who were left off. If I could vote for more people, I would...

An update on the current standings in the New York team voting:
Main Team:
Raffaele Forino - 8 votes James Hangley - 6 votes Vincent Forino - 4 votes Jake Gans - 4 votes Max Brown - 1 vote Tom Dixon - 1 vote
Understudies:
Jake Gans: 2 Michael Egan: 2 Max Brown: 1 Michael Bauer: 1
Jake and Vinnie are tied at the moment. If this goes down to the wire the New York community will be asked to vote again, for either Jake or Vinnie.

Well New York, 2/3rd's of the team is set with:
Raffaele Forino James Hangley
And now we come down to a vote off between Vincent Forino and Jake Gans.
If you're a New York area player, place your vote for either one in the next 24 hours, and the winner will play as the third and final member of Team New York.
The Understudies are:
Michael Egan/Jake Gans Max Brown Mike Bauer

I still vote Jake for the main team.
Also, I am not sure if Vinny will be there, so the vote might be a moot point.

Vinnie is going, so the point is valid.
I'll double check Max's numbers, it's possible that I missed one in haste.
