Since there is nothing that goes on in the south ever, so it seems...

I spoke with the owner of the card shop here in town and he agreed to let me hold a tournament in his shop free of charge, He said he would just be happy having people in his store under the pretense of hopefully selling more merch. when everyone was there.

That said, within the next month or so I'm going to be buying a Mox and a few other smaller things for prizes and am going to hold a vintage tournament.

Ive been speaking with some friends and its probably going to be a 10 proxy, 20$ buy in. I'm probably going to do prizes to the top 4, depending on how many people show up maybe the top 8.

I'm just trying to get a feel ahead of time for approx. how many people on here would be interested in coming. Its going to be held in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

So I get to go gambling AND play Magic??  Sweet!  I might be able to get a few others since Houston really isn't that far away.  Any idea on a tentative date?

I know this thread is a tad old, but any updates?

I just moved to San Angelo Texas this past week.  I had a decent Vintage group in the Tucson/Phoenix area, but I have moved so... yeah.

Anyone in the central/west Texas area up fr some 10 proxy?  Maybe we can get something started?  Drop me a line or reply or something!

Well we used to have some Vintage tournaments here in Houston at Asgard games (asgardgames.net) but it kind of tapered off and Legacy apparently went bonkers.  I need to get off my ass and talk to the owner about getting a tournament scene again, even if it starts with a handfull of players just having fun.

I would love to say I could come to a tourney out there.  Problem is that it is quite a drive ... and while  would love to play, 12+ total hours of driving for a magic game is a tad much.  Maybe if there is some other events out there I could justify the trip to the wife.

I will continue to corrupt the young Magic players out here and attempt to drag them into T-1.

Asgard Games in Houston does host monthly Vintage tournaments (typically the last Sunday of each month, but check the website at asgardgames.net to be sure). We need more people to show up! Last month we didn't have enough so we just played casually (well, as casual as you can get with top-tier Vintage decks  Wink).

I live in San Antonio.  My range for tourneys is about west about an hour from SA (nothing in that direction really), North as far as Austin and maybe a tad past, East as far as Houston (but being 2.5 hrs, it'd have to be a darn good prize support), And South as far as Corpus (again - 2.5 hrs away, so needs good prizes).  Anything within this range and I'm there in a heartbeat.  Already got all my decks ready to rumble.  Probably don't even need proxies, but 5-10 is cool to beef up attendance.  I don't mind beating up on sharpie.dec Smile
