Support for this event looks as though it may be a played Unlimited Ruby to first place, with an Unlimited Timetwister added to second at 35 entrants. I'm looking at 3rd/4th as, potentially, Volcanic Islands, with $25 dealer credit being given out for 5th-8th.

Prize support for this event has been confirmed thanks to Iron Chef.
This is the first non-Lotus double power tournament that I'm running. Given the incredible response to the Grudge Match, I felt it was important to come back to the community with a tournament that had prize support on par with the attendance I've had/am hoping for in February. I know we're not going to get everybody that we had for the Grudge Match, but I wanted to step things up a bit, and ask that you guys support me in turn.

Well I was going to take a vacation around the time of this tournament, but due to a certain employer of mine announcing plans to carry a certain popular phone, vacations are probably going to be blacked out for the month. Nonetheless I plan to request off for just the weekend, because working Sunday after an NYSE (and an NYSE afterparty) sucks. Working hungover FTL!
Hopefully I'll get to make the February schedule and this won't be an issue.
Assuming I can make it, would anybody from the Philly area be interested in chopping a hotel room for Saturday night, even though there's (probably) not going to be anything on Sunday? It was only $80 the weekend of the Grudge Match, chopped among four people that's not that bad of a price for a good night's sleep after a rockin' afterparty. It would eliminate the need for a designated driver...

Oh man. Mikey Noble is alive! On a more serious note, it has been brought to my attention that this is the weekend of SCG: DC. There are literally no dates that are open in the month of February outside of this weekend. February 5th is a PTQ, the 12th is Blue Bell, the 19th is a PTQ and the 26th is SCG: DC. While I'm sure that I will lose a couple of players to the SCG Open, I've spoken with many players who have said that they're going to make it out to this event. I'm confident that we're going to have a very strong turnout regardless of what Standard players do... See you all then.

As long as the big event is this big event I can reschedule this event for this event. How does that sound?

Jet is guaranteed. Pearl is guaranteed at 40. Don't worry, I think we're going to crush 40.

Going to try to make it to this.
This will be my first East coast event (relocating for work this weekend).
Any suggestions on when I should leave home (Stamford, CT) to make this on time?
EDIT: I should learn to read.

Don't worry about the reading thing... I did a quick check on Google maps. From a generic point in Stamford, CT, to Brother's Grim is supposed to be no more than 90 minutes. I'd probably leave two hours for the trip, but it shouldn't be bad. Come over and say hello to me some time during the day, I'd like to hear about the trip, what you're playing, and what you think of the event.

This is why I ask - new to the area. I don't know these things. Don't even know where I would find the ferry/hours/rates/etc.
