http://www.starcitygames.com/magic/legacy/22145_The_Long_And_Winding_Road_CREAM_The_End_Part_3.htmlIt's been a wild, 2 1/2 year ride writing for StarCityGames.com. I wrote about Vintage in my second article for SCG, and returned to the format often, before really focusing on it for over a year. While I've focused on more on Legacy the past 12 months, Vintage remains near and dear to me. Sadly, the combination of my personal life (baby due in under four weeks) and professional life (working two positions for the next 30 or so days until my previous one is back-filled) has left me with no time to play the game; without playing, I can't really write articles and feel confident that I'm giving you correct information. So, this week's article is my last as a regular columnist for SCG. I'm sure I'll contribute one-offs and hope to someday return as a regular feature writer, but no matter what happens, I want to offer you my sincere thanks for the support and feedback over the past few years.

A big loss for both Eternal formats, your writing was excellent. Best of luck.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.
Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops. I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Matt, thank you for all the articles and inspiration, you have done such a great service for the community. Allen actually called me yesterday and told me he was saddened after reading this article. In any case, your love for the game has always been refreshing and I hope we will see you again when its possible. Good luck with the upcoming endeavors!

Matt, you're one of the few writers I saw who I actually enjoyed reading more as time progressed. Good luck with your endeavors, and hopefully we'll see the occassional article here and there from you.

I prefer not to think of it as a leave from the game, but rather as the time necessary to incubate and train a young padawan in the arts of slinging the magical cards. In no time at all we'll have two Elias characters to deal with at the top tables!
