Something that just came to me:

The Taxman -  {W}
Creature
Players cannot spend more than three mana per turn.
Whenever an opponent casts a spell with CMC  {0} or without paying its mana cost, put a +1/+1 counter on ~.
1/1

That plus Glowrider + Teeg could be part of a nasty WW strat.
Just to be sure you understand the mechanic... You do realize that Glowrider and Teeg have no interaction, right? With both on the table, you pay {3} {U} for Thirst, but Teeg does not prevent this.

Taxman + Glowrider is certainly nasty though. I like the card in general, but worry how printable it is. Seems like it could get really ugly in Standard (though in fairness they might be running enough removal to make it a nonissue).

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.

Yeah, I was thinking Taxman + Glowrider are nasty, and then I was thinking WW and added Teeg at that point.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Quote
Aether Heretic  {U} {R}
Creature -- Goblin Rogue
Flash
Sacrifice Aether Heretic: Exile target artifact.
2/1
Compact Blightsteel and Workshop answer that can come down uncounterably via Lackey or Aether Vial, alternatively can be cast during upkeep before Tangle Wires can wreak havoc.

Should be at a printable power level as templated and have virtually no effect on standard that's not outright desirable.  See: the printing of Shattering Spree after the last Mirrodin block.

Any interest in putting together/maintaining a Github Git project that hosts proven decks of all major archetypes and documents their changes over time?

You guys think this would be too powerful?

2RRR (phyrexia mana, R or 2 life etc)
3/3
Haste
When ~ comes into play, you lose 1 life.
When ~ comes into play destroy target non-basic land, or destroy target artifact.
When ~ comes into play if you lost 7 or more life this turn, instead destroy target non-basic land, and destroy target artifact.

So turn 2, or your Turn 1, you could have a 3/3 hasty, and blow up their Mox/Dual land/Workshop for just 2 mana and 7 life.
7 life seems a lot, so this seems fair to me, but it is 3-1 CA, so not sure.

What do you guys think?  I would love to play this in Sligh.

Vigilant Watchman
 {G}
1/1
 {X}, sacrifice Vigilant Watchman: Search your library for a creature card with converted mana cost X or less, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library.

Pretty much just a GSZ with a body that can get any color of creature.

Perhaps most importantly, it doesn't have issues with fetching up a Gaddock Teeg against combo.  On the other hand, it can fetch up Mystic Snake...

Yeah, I guess it could be pretty broken.  Insta-fetch of Mindcensor, True Believer, Yixlid Jailer, Meddling Mage, etc.

I imagine this guy would see the most use fetching out low cost utility creatures. Might make access to those kinds of dudes too reliable. I haven't been paying attention to the Standard meta for w hile now, but from all the hate I've been hearing, I'd think Vigilant Watchman -> Stoneforge Mystic -> FACEPUNCH is a bad thing.
