Counting is difficult!

The last N.Y.S.E. was announced as N.Y.S.E. XVI. After doing some very difficult counting that involved using multiple hands and a foot, I came to the conclusion that it was actually N.Y.S.E. XV. Which means that we get to do this all over again!

July 25th, 2009 was the date of the very first N.Y.S.E. event. In the two years that have come and gone we’ve seen everything from (multiple) tanker fires on the Long Island Expressway to 90 man events. The last two years have been great. Here’s hoping that the next two years are just as good…

When:

Saturday, July 30th, 2011
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM
First round will begin promptly at 12:00 PM

What:

$30, 15 proxy non-sanctioned Vintage tournament. Deck registration sheets will be in use. First place prize and second place prize are guaranteed.  All additional prizes are guaranteed at 44 entrants.

The prize structure will be as follows:

1st: Unlimited Ancestral Recall
2nd: Unlimited Time Walk
3rd/4th: $60 dealer credit
5th/8th: $30 dealer credit
9th: Mystery Prize, to be autographed by the top 8

As always, prizes will be scaled up with attendance.

Side Events:

Eight man, single elimination, side events will be available throughout the day. Signups for the first event will begin after round four of the main event. Entry fee is $10, with the prize breakdown being $60 dealer credit to 1st, $20 dealer credit to 2nd.

Player of the Year Race:

Starting on 1/8 there will be a Player of the Year race. Points will be accumulated based on match wins (3 points) and draws (1 point.) The event will run from 1/8/11 - 12/31/11. The winner of the race wins free admission to all N.Y.S.E. tournaments for 2012. Updates will be posted in the tournament reports for the tournaments.

The point structure will be as follows:

1st: 12 points
2nd: 9 points
3rd: 6 points
4th: 6 points
5th: 3 points
6th: 3 points
7th: 3 points
8th: 3 points

May the best player win!

This event is an awesome opportunity.  Going to GenCon?  Then here's your last shot to get some testing in before the big event.  Going to the third Grudge Match?  That's only two weeks off from N.Y.S.E. XVI - again, it's the perfect time to get some testing in.

Not to mention; when's the last time that you saw two pieces of blue power given out at an event?

I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the 30th for another day of Vintage on Long Island!

I will be attending but am not planning on winning.  I will be playing a sub-par deck and have absolutely no interest in any of the prizes.  But dammit, I'm gonna have fun.

Gonna try to make this one from CT.  Anyone heading out from over here or want to car pool along the way?

A lot of your "bad" decks have turned out to be pretty good lately.

You know I'll be there, defending my position at the top of the hill.

Room for one more in the car, driving from Queens out to Selden. Plan to leave around 830.

Look its hot outside everyone should just stay home because I will be winning this event.  Just send the money to Mr. Detwiler and make his life easier.

There was doubt as to if i would be able to make this.

But i worked my magic and got off from work.  So, a car full of people with me at the helm will be there (although i don't really know who, exactly).

Awesome, thanks Matt.

If you could, please reach out to the Brady's.  Bryan and I had spoken about the event, though I don't remember if he said he was able to make it.  I know he finished up with work on the 27th.  And I see that Alex Owen is looking to make it out.

I should be at Mark's at some point later tonight.  Let's talk then.
