MTGS has started the spoilers. Let's look at some new cards:
Ludevic's Test Subject//Abomination --> Although a 13/13 trampler automatically qualifies, seems kinda boring anymore. Anybody else feel like that with all the super fatties in print?
Olivia Volderan --> Love the flavor. Seems awfully flexible. Shot gun the board Vampiric Dragon style, steal indestructible dudes. Make her arbitrarily big and fly over.

This guy seems like a solid possibility: Reaper from the Abyss Creature - Demon Flying Morbid- At the beginning of each end step, if a creature died this turn, destroy target non-Demon creature. 6/6 Creatures do tend to die pretty often, and I imagine that if this guy manages to stick around for any length of time, he will certainly accelerate the process! Plus he has a decent body and he's big and black and therefore immune to some removal as well.

Agreed. Probably won't make it in our stack. Olivia seems good. Maybe too good. Definitely worth testing though. I like the artwork on Reaper but not much else. If you have an a stack that is absolutely nutty, you could try: Devil's Play Sorcery Devil's Play deals X damage to target creature or player . Flashback

Not a whole lot of T4 playables in this set thus far, but this one is neat: Army of the Damned Sorcery Put thirteen 2/2 black Zombie creature tokens onto the battlefield tapped Flashback For stacks that use Crush of Wurms, this at least provides a different option. Though Storm Herd is still probably better, I'm starting to get a little sick of that card to be honest.

Love the "flavor" of Army of the Damned (mmmm...brains). And it does make 13 dudes. Twice. But I'm not sure the novelty is worth it.

Well, it's mostly better than Crush of Wurms, I'd run it, you often get the chance to kill 2 players in 1 shot, nothing to sneeze at. And of course, flashback. It also means that everyone at the table must open 1 extra beer right away to get enough bottle caps for counters, that's not to dismiss.

Wow this set sucks for T4! Cackling Counterpart 1uu Instant Rare Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of target creature you control. Flashback 5{U}{U} Being instant is good, but you need 1 creature, have it not killed in response and it being not legendary, pass. Forbidden Alchemy 2u Instant Common Look at the top four cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the rest into your graveyard. Flashback 6{B} This is pretty much auto include at least. A good draw and filter. Blasphemous Act 8r Sorcery Rare Blasphemous Act costs 1 less to cast for each creature on the battlefield. Blasphemous Act deals 13 damage to each creature. Funny removal, but I think we all have enough Wrath effects. ~Stensia Bloodhall Land Rare : Add 1 to your mana pool. 3{B}{R}, : ~Stensia Bloodhall deals 2 damage to target player. This can probably be playable. It's not Aladin's Ring, but will likely stay in play much longer. Shivan's Gorge has always been a decent card, this gets the job done faster.

Finally some decent cards with flashback: Creeping Renaissance Sorcery Choose a permanent type. Return all cards of the chosen type from your graveyard to your hand. Flashback Super Regrowth with flashback? Yes, please! Unburial Rites Sorcery Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. Flashback A so-so reanimation effect, but the flashback could make it worth it.

Bleh, it's your graveyard only, and it's sorcery. Pretty slow. The regrowth is awesome, even though you'll probably discard more than half right away Also, this will say Instant 95% of the time.

Well geez, they sure saved all the good T4 stuff for the end! Back from the Brink Enchantment Exile a creature from your graveyard and pay it's mana cost: Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of that card. Activate this ability only anytime you could cast a sorcery. I like this as a potentially good late-game effect. Like a worse but one-sided Twilight's Call. Lost in the Mist Instant Counter target spell. Return target permanent to it owner's hand. It's like a half a Cryptic Command! Hell yeah this is going in my stack! Runic Repetition Sorcery Return target exiled card with flashback to your hand. Narrow but pretty powerful effect. I'll have to look to see how much flashback I play to see if this makes it. Sever the Bloodline Sorcery Exile target creature and all other creatures with the same name as that creature. Flashback The sorcery speed sucks on this one, but it might still be worth it as it is the only targeted creature removal I know with flashback. It even occasionally has some extra oomph against tokens and Clone effects. Tribute to Hunger Instant Target opponent sacrifices a creature. You gain life equal to that creature's toughness. Yay! Better Edict! Desperate Ravings Instant Draw two cards, then discard a card at random. Flashback Eh...maybe? Flashback card draw could be good. Evil Twin Creature - Shapeshifter You may have Evil Twin enter the battlefield as a copy of any creature on the battlefield except it gains " : Destroy target creature with the same name as this creature." 0/0 Will probably usually be just a Clone, but the extra option to kill the original is always nice.

Lost in the mist is not that good since it can be a first turn counter. Moreover it happens more than often that nothing is on the field and you do want to counter. It has a 5ccm, so it can be targeted by Runic Repetition : don't sure I want to spend my only spell to that. Sever the bloodlines : sorcery. Meh. Tribut to hunger is very good indeed. Desperate ravings : random thing. Bleh. Evil twin is nice, i don't see yet what to get out to let him in (which is not such a good sign). This one is nice BUT slow : Name: Grimoire of the Dead Cost: 4 Type: Legendary Artifact Rules Text: , , Discard a card: Put a study counter on Grimoire of the Dead. , Remove three study counters from Grimoire of the Dead and sacrifice it: Put all creature cards in all graveyards onto the battlefield under your control. They are black Zombies in addition to their other colors and types. Rarity: Mythic Rare You'll notice you don't have to exile the Grimoire, just sac it. The charging cost is heavy anyway.

Cards of note:
Back from the Brink --> T4 playable enchantment. Powerful and hard to deal with. Cackling Counterpart --> Copy opponents' goodies. Twice! Dissipate --> Mirage reprint. Lost in the Mist --> Counter+bounce=autoinclude Ludevic's Abomination --> I will just sleeve it as a 13/13. No transformation necessary Memory's Journey --> Versatile instant with flashback. Probably too narrow. Army of the Damned --> Who doesn't love zombies?! Tribute to Hunger --> Bye bye Emrakul Unburial Rites --> Replaces Dance of the Dead, Vigor Mortis, or Hymn of Rebirth in that order Heretic's Punishment --> Want an elegant fix...maybe tap, maybe sacrifice... Bramblecrush --> Slow but versatile Creeping Renaissance --> 80/20 between creatures/artifacts. Use with Timmy or Myojin Moldgraf Monstrosity --> Fun fatty! Dies to removal...then recurs two friends. Evil Twin --> Copy and removal in one. Autokills legends too. Olivia Voldaren --> See previous discussion.

I like Forbidden Alchemy, especially in a stack filled with recursion. I'm not totally sold on Lost in the Mist. It's less narrow than Suffocating Blast. I dislike Blast but it makes it in our stack, so we'll probably give Mist a shot. Army of the Damned is hilarious. I hope someone gets to live the dream of turn one Army, turn two Titanic Ultimatum. Tribute to Hunger gets in there since we didn't have Diabolic Edict to begin with. I'm really excited about Moldgraf Monstrosity. Beater can bring back more beaters or set up some two creature combo.

Lost in Mist seems excellent to me. Sure you cant use i turn 1 or after a big wrath, but if I'm holding a counterspell + bounce then there's only a limited number of things I'd be worried about countering on an empty board. Back from the Brink seems very powerful. Its good that its limited to my own graveyard or it might be too good. It also is worded in a way that keeps you from makeing infinite copies of something i can sacrifice for an effect. Instead we have a card that will help you force through any creatures you want to cast or will be a big late game bomb (that gets countered). I like it. Tribute to Hunger --> Bye bye Emrakul
You guys play Emrakul?!? that's crazy. This card is a solid upgrade. Creeping Reniassance - could be good. Not sure. Army of the Damned - like 2 26/26 creatures. this has to be pretty decent. Forbidden Alchemy - I can see myself drafting this card. I like card draw, card selection and Instant cards with Flashback. This gets a lot of good checkmarks. Olivia Voldaren - Looks way too powerful for my stack. Steal all the creatures and get gigantic? If it just took the creatures I'd be cool with it, but the +1+1 thing puts its over the top for me. The rest of this stuff looks pretty marginal.
