I have been testing with Snapcaster Mage a little bit. It appears, that the mana really is the main problem with him, as you have to flashback in the same turn. He would be much better if he would regrowth the instant/sorcery. That means that the highest cc you will ever flashback with him is 2, more likely 1. To build a control deck with him, we hence have to find a draw engine that fits this criteria. Preordain and Ponder does not really fit the bill as a third turn snapcaster+preordain is simply underwhelming. The card I so far like best with him is Night's Whisper. Against gush combo NW really has been performing well, much better as Bob, and drawing 4 extra cards in turn three and having a 2/1 body seems fine to me. What really makes that engine fast enough is that you can play rituals. The card disadvantage of ritual has always been a problem which can be nicely compensated with NW, mage or bob. Of course, ritual works nicely with Duress which is another good Mage target. Then we add bob which can do enough damage teaming up with mage to finish the opponent of with some rituals and a tendrils. There is still a lot to tune, how many Tendrils is the best number?, does TV/key fit in? and the like. I am currently testing this list:

Have you tried him with Gush Control? I wonder if T1 or T2 preordain/thoughtseize/ponder/recall, T3 Float mana, gush, replay an island, snapcaster for preordain/ponder/recall/thoughtseize works well or not.

Would AKs be better than Night's Whisper?  Drawing 2 cards for 4 mana is just not good.  Concentrate would draw 3 although at sorcery speed.
AKs give you the ability to draw potentially 4.

AKs give you the ability to draw potentially 4.

Drawing 2 for 2 is good; and then later getting 2 cards and a 2/1 for 4 is not horrible.  Add the option of getting a duress and a 2/1 for 3 and it's downright good.

Isn't 37 cards that produce mana giving you some really clunky hands? You can probably fit a lot more goodies if you cut down on the lands, since 24 seems astronomically high for this deck.

Err... there are only 12 lands in the deck. The "12 lands" thing at the top was a count of the list that follows it, I believe. There are 12 lands and 8 mana artifacts on the list, which seems pretty healthy.

@ boggyb: you are correct. I believe you should not go below 12 lands

@meadbert: If draw 2 for 4cc is bad then draw1 for 4cc is worse. Lonely AKs really suck while, turn 1: land, mox, whisper, draw 2.  turn 2/3: snapcaster, whisper, draw another 2 seems fine. (not broken I give you that). AK/Intuition is too slow and I actually do not see any synergies with mage.

In case you were wondering where his extra mana sources are, he's counting rituals.
Personally in anything I'd classify as blue based controll I'd try and have about 24 non ritual sources. For ritual based, about what you have there. What that means idk, maybe nothing.

here are some thoughts :

snapcaster + nightswhisper works only at your turn (captain obvious) and requires 4 mana

ur cc2 slot is to sick , and ur mana base is  even for normal  ritual tendrils pretty sick thin.

i would play
+ ponder
+ gifts
- vault /key
+ 2 islands (probably cut 1 mage even for land nr3 , mighte even be loa)
-2 NIghts whisper

lands/ ponder fix manabase , vault key not needed in ritual based tendrils.deck
(usually u wanna start the  game with t1 whisper or confidant and not ponder , but ponder is simply betetr than nights whisper)
gifts land mox eot DR Gifts gg

first i considered 4 mages to much , but  when u cut nights whispers , should work pretty fine , i know u love NW , but u actually try to play hyper fast combo gather with mages with cutting bargain and 3 rituals ^^
