After the thrashing I took from the Champ in the Ringer tournament, I decieded to give Matt Elias style gro a try. Of course, for obvious reasons, I played exactly sixty cards. That is the only correct number of cards to play in Vintage.

Game 1:
This was a great game. Tarmogoyf was defeating Stone Forge Mystic in an epic duel. The turn before I go lethal with Goyfs, Steve Tinkers into Lotus and then YawgWills -- right into my Remora. He Brainstorms, plays some artifact mana, and Tinkers -- all while I go to lots of cards in hand. Blightsteel faces down my one Goyf, but I have a full grip, and win with my dozen cards. Blighsteel didn't get to put on a batterskull and kill me, entertaining though that would have been.

Game 2:
Bob arrives for GI.Ijust have a Key which gets Misstepped. I match Bob with Goyf, and Bob hands GI a Stone Forge. GI Walks and SFM arrives. Snapcaster rebuys Brainstorm, and I'm facing down a powerful team of powerful three-drops. I play Time Vault and a third land, and pass. GI Demonics, and STP's Goyf. I Gush to build Storm and counter it. Things were fine until Riptide Lab arrives. It's amazingly powerful here. I get buried by a bouncing Snapcaster.

Game 3:
I lead with Key and Remora. But I miss my next land drop. Unfortunate. I can't sustain the Fish. And I still have one land with two Gush in hand. GI starts to amass a board, searching out Sword of Fire and Ice with Stoneforge. But then, I hit Fastbond. I draw a bunch of cards and take a bunch of turns.

Triple Post!

I defeated Mr Duck in three games. He defeated me on his second turn (on the play) with Dredge, as the deck does. In the second game, I kept a hand that involved a Leyline, a Force, and a first-turn Goyf. Mr Duck kept a hand that involved one card, and he promptly conceded. In the third game, I played a first-turn Yixlid Jailer and rode him to victory.
