Yup to everything you say, Steve.  Thus we see the effect of the "experience gap;" even if your play is technically fine, if you arn't as well-versed in the meta and can recognize the deck you're up a against, you lose.

Thats not actually my most derpy moment, even.  A few weeks back, I was playing against someone who was swinging in with a Natuko Shade and 1 black mana untapped.  I had lethal on the board to swing back next turn if I did not block, and 4 life.  I tanked, wondering what one-casting cost black instant he could have that I would be concerned about.  The best I could come up with was Gut Shot, and I didn't think that was likely, so I let him in.  Can you guess what absolutely butt-obvious black spell he had to punish me for my stupidity?  (Hint: It rhymes with Bark Victual.)
