Heart of the Vale  {0}
Legendary Artifact

Whenever a creature would enter the battlefield under your control, put a charge counter on Heart of the Vale.

 {Tap}, remove all charge counters from Heart of the Vale:  Choose a color.  Add mana of the chosen color to your mana pool equal tot he number of charge counters removed.

Its design is to give mono-colored aggro decks a short-term mana boost.  I'm not sure if it's too wordy, but I'm fairly sure that it needs to be Legendary, as multiples would be horrific in terms of accelerating.

Current wording:

Heart of the Vale {0}
Legendary Artifact

Whenever a nontoken creature enters the battlefield under your control, put a charge counter on Heart of the Vale.

{Tap}, remove all charge counters from Heart of the Vale: Add X mana of any one color to your mana pool, where X is the number of charge coutners removed from Heart of the Vale.

Retemplated:

Heart of the Vale {0}
Legendary Artifact

Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, put a charge counter on Heart of the Vale.

{Tap}, remove all charge counters from Heart of the Vale: Add X mana of any one color to your mana pool, where X is the number of charge coutners removed from Heart of the Vale.

No need to say "would" for the first ability, that generally indicates a replacement ability. Second ability templated to match Lotus Blossom.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.

Yeah, I was stoned on Day Nurse when I came up with the concept.  Modified.

I suppose I should actually comment on the card itself too...

Zero cost is too cheap. Even at {1}, I think this is quite possibly too good. For balance reasons, this should probably say "non-token" creature.

You get pretty ridiculous interactions between this and stuff like Shrieking Drake. With multiples, you get stupid amounts of mana pretty quickly. For example, with two Hearts and a Drake:
T1: Island, Heart 1, Heart 2. Tap Island for Drake. Tap Heart 1 for {U}. Play Drake. Tap Heart 2 for {U} {U}. Play Drake twice (2 counters on each Heart). You've now got 5 mana of any color available for T2 (3 counters on first Heart, 2 on the second), and can still ramp before casting any real spells.
T2: Tap Island for Drake. Tap first Heart, play Drake 4 times. Tap second Heart, get 7 blue. Play something pricey, say FOF. Use remaining {U} {U} {U} to play Drake. You now have 10 Heart mana available for T3 (7 counters & 3 counters). Pure ramp would have gotten you 18! Heart mana for T3.

After working out that scenario, this probably needs more nerfing. Maybe add only 1 mana per two counters removed?

Well... it is Legendary.  Perhaps having a sacrifice cost too would be sufficient to stop shenanigans.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Aaaaaandd I'm an idiot. Specifying "non-token" creature and mana cost {1} should be plenty then, IMO.

cost 0 is fine...legendary and Non-token fix any problems.

"Heart Mox"? "Blood Mox"? "Mox Sanguine"?

I've got no problems w/ the current name, just spitballing a bit here.

Mox Heartsong?  A callback to the Urza's song-themed enchantments and Moxen.
