vesuva and shock lands

if i play vesuva and target a shock land, can i pay 2 life and have vesuva come into play untapped?

You can pay two life, however vesuva will still ETBT due to its own ability.

gkraigher's answer is 100% correct, but doesn't really get into what's going on there. 

There's a common misconception that with the Ravnica duals you're paying 2 life to have it enter the battlefield untapped.  This isn't quite correct.  You're paying 2 life to ignore it's own "enters the battlefield tapped" instruction.  In this case, there's 2 separate instructions telling you to have the land enter the battlefield tapped.  Even if you get to ignore one, the other will still apply.
