The details on the next New York N.E.V. event have been set.  Here they are:

When:

Saturday, June 23rd, 2012
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM
First round will begin promptly at 12:00 PM

What:

$30, 10 proxy non-sanctioned Vintage tournament.  Up to five additional proxies can be bought for $1 each.  Deck registration sheets will be in use.

The prize structure will be as follows:

1st: $400 Coss credit
2nd: $200 Coss credit
3rd/4th: $100 Coss credit
5th/8th: $50 dealer credit
9th: Mystery Prize, to be autographed by the top 8

Generally I'll guarantee a piece of power as prize support for the event, but this is just easier.  Nick has Moxen that can be bought with less than that $400 in credit, and it makes it easier to pick out what you'd actually like, in case you win.

As always, prizes will be scaled up with attendance.

Side Events:

Eight man, single elimination, side events will be available throughout the day. Signups for the first event will begin after round four of the main event. Entry fee is $12, with a blue dual land (probably a Tundra) being given to first!

Where:

Brothers Grim Games & Collectibles
1244 Middle Country Road
Selden, N.Y.
11784
(631) 698-2805
brothersgrimgames@gmail.com

Store website:

http://brgrim.com/index.htm

NEV points standings will be updated soon, to include the last New York NEV event.

I hope to see you all there!

Just for the sake of argument, is there any way I could hitch a ride for this either from Manhattan and / or a stop on the LIRR?

I can pick you up from an LIRR stop, either Ronkonkoma (by the event) or Forest Hills (closer to me)

Thanks!  I'll have to see if I can find a bus out there.  Apparently State College is dead in the summer.

Also, isn't Forest Hills where Spider-Man lives? Very Happy

I will be here, operating the Coss table.  For those that are interested, I'm also taking this opportunity to pass on my CD collection to those who wish to benefit from some of them.  I don't have jewel cases unfortunately, but hey, they're free.

Also, if there's interest, I'll bring the Beanie Babies I should have gotten rid of a decade ago too.  Anyone know if Scalzo is going?

I was just informed my little brother graduates from High School at 9am on this day. I am going to be there for that. I'm going to try to make it over in time for this, but can't guarantee it. Either way I plan to stop in and check on everyone as his high school is somewhat around the block from Grimm.

Unfortunately, I will not be in attendance for this event due to my fathers day present having to take place on a Saturday.

However, I do not a Mike Hajduk "creature type - Adorable" token. How much do they cost?!?

Well, at the very least, I know that we're plus a few people who aren't usually at these things.

I'm off making photocopies and picking up pens for the event in a bit.  See you all tomorrow.

I'm assuming Mr. Coss will not be in attendance? We'll try not to get you accidentally fired like last time Mike.

What genre(s) of music do you have on CD? When looking at my own collection of CDs, I'm amazed at how my taste in music has evolved.

@Tom - Hope you can make it. It's not a big deal if you have to miss one NEV event. It's not like you need the points  Wink.

Top 3 greatest artists of all time - Tiny Tim, Boy George, and The Weather Girls. Honorable mention to Alvin and The Chipmunks.

If you have any of those I'd appreciate it Mike. Since I won't be there just give them to Rob.

Thanks guys!

Mike, if you could make me 2-3 Spirit tokens (from the Orchard) that you find interesting I'd like that. Artistic license away good sir!

@ Rob : Lol, I'm going to pay 30 to register even if I can't make it, need that NEV point fix.

26 players showed up today, which was a little less than what I'd hoped for, but not terrible.  We had a star studded top eight, with Mike Egan's UWB Bomberman taking down Mike Hajduk's RUG Delver in the finals.

The report will be up early on Sunday morning.

Although this tournament was only 26 players, it was like 90% ringers. Luckily I played against the other 10% so i took it down.
