Hi all!

Every week, I'm going to start an 8-player single elimination bracket.  Rules are very similar to the TMD online invitational:
1. Games are played publicly on Cockatrice
2. Players have at most a week to complete each match.
3. Lists must be posted after all round 1 matches are complete.
3a. You cannot change lists between rounds.
3b. If requested by your opponent, you must reveal your deck at the beginning of each match after the first week.
4. Brackets are fully randomized.

Registration will be closed once we have 8 people or about a week passes and I remember to draw up a bracket.

Players signed up as of last update:
1. AmbivalentDuck
2. Shax
3. Brianpk
4. Serracollector
5. Guli
6. Mrjumbo
7. GI

First matches must be complete by July 4th.  If all matches complete before then, the next set will be due within a week, and so on.

Lost 2-1 to Guli.  He was on Scryb.dec v42, and I was on RUG.

I have very mixed feelings about his deck.  Ranger gains considerable power when Curiousity is added to its already potent list of skills.  Guli runs plenty of countermagic to address combo decks, but he's forced to tap down in the early turns to create a board presence.  In addition, he runs many creatures that have the implicit "cost" of finding other creatures.

Meddling Mage remains trivial to play around and I wouldn't waste the space on it.  Even a few copies of Scavenging Ooze or extra copies of Edric would make this a meaningfully better deck.  That said, the concept appears very strong and the seemingly problematic RUG matchup was well-addressed.

Meddling Mage is interesting with bounce tactics.

But I think cutting Meddling Mage to use more counters, Ajani and additional Edric might be better. Ajani+Curiosity= good times. The bounce ninja had some evasion issues. Ajani fixes that and they all protect/help each other.

I took the match 2-0 versus Serracollector's Helm-Shops deck.

Both games resolved around me using Mental Misstep on his artifact mana and welder (g2). But generally I just drew my counters and got in Trygon and/or other threats.

Mental misstep on sol ring and mana vault is apparently tech vs MUD.  cheeky bastard.

Thanks for the patience.  I thought I might have had some time to spare after an event on Tuesday but it ran really late.

I found Shax while he was playing someone else, but before we could begin a match I got an important phone call and then it was very late.  Will try to reconnect soon.

Hasn't been yet.  I checked on Cockatrice a few times, but I've been away a lot.
