That would be a creased unlimited Black Lotus with whitening on the front, retail ~900.  And a CE Mox and Twister, retail ~200.  He got 700 for 1100 worth of cards from the dealer plus some unknown other CE cards that were in the binder.

Before this I was under the impression that the show was relatively real, now, not so much.  Killed my suspension of disbelief once they started dealing with things that I recognize.

Shoebox full of Scars of Mirrodin commons and uncommons with a Lotus and pile of CE cards?  Yeah, 100% plant job.

I was already over it with Storage Wars Texas, now I think I will just stop wasting my time and just watch Gold Rush and the like.

I've watched a fair share of storage wars episode but haven't really been keeping up with it this season (got kinda carried away, but that's a whole nother topic). When I saw this I wanted to look around and see the episode or get details. What I did find was an a&e Discusion section about the show and it's the funniest thing seeing people comment about the episode.  They were like oh my god Darrel's an idiot to sell the cards for 700 when a lotus is worth 100k. I'd like to find out where these people are getting
Card prices and make sure to never use it.

There's a pretty good one to get a laugh at. If anyone for some reason has an a&e account do me a favor and let these people know some actual prices

Interestingly enough, I bought an uncut sheet of Magic cards once that supposedly made it way to me from a storage locker.  I can't verify but the person is reputable.

I did see it. The Lotus was beat up with pretty significant whitening. The Twister and the Pearl were both CE. There were more cards in the binder, I was kind of curious to see what else was in there, but they never really went through it. I didn't think this scenario was anything too unrealistic. A box of random commons and uncommons and a binder with some more valuable stuff in it. Sounds like what you would find if you found an average section of most people's Magic collections. I've always been pretty skeptical of some of the prices the people on that show set for themselves, especially Darrell, but the $700 for a beat Lotus and some CE power seems about right for a first offer from a dealer. I know Storage Wars has gotten beaten up before for being fake, so maybe it is.
