PRIZES:

CASH!

2nd Place: 20% of Prize Pool
3rd Place: 10% of Prize Pool
4th Place: 10% of Prize Pool

As long as there are 24 or more players, there will be a FREE single elimination side event will begin with X-1 round of swiss with a grand prize of $40 (which will come from the main prize pool).

WHERE: This will be the third Vintage event at Comic Town.  The first two were a ton of fun with a lot of good feedback for the store.

COMICTOWN
1249 Morse Road  Columbus, OH 43229
(614) 262-5006

http://www.comictown.net/locations/

If you need to car pool to Columbus, post your needs and we'll find someone whom you can travel with. I'll start a signup if necessary.

WHEN: Sunday, December 30, 2012 1:00 PM EST

The store opens at 11:30 AM. Registration starts at 12:30 PM. Registration will close and the tournament begins at 1:00 PM, sharp. To save time, consider typing or writing up your decklist ahead of time.

PROXIES: UNLIMITED PROXIES will be permitted.

There are THREE ways of making proxies:

1) The first and most basic is taking a basic land card and writing the details of the card on it.
2) PREFERRED! The second method is to take a card that shares some of the characteristics with the card that is being proxied and erase any characteristics that do not match, replacing them with the correct characteristics. See: http://forums.starcitygames.com/viewtopic.php?t=291560 for more details on how to do this.
3) the third is to print out all 75 cards, and slip the sheet of paper into each sleeve. If you do this, every card must be proxied.

EXTRAS:  Vintage Achievements!

During each round of the main event, players will be given a checklist of Achievements for their match.  These Achievements mark noteworthy actions or game states that occur during the round and can/should be tracked by all players.  At the end of each round, the player that achieved the most during that round will win a door prize (randomized, in the case of tie).  Some examples of Achievements we will be using:

Givin’ him the business :: Win a game on your first turn
The Hard Way :: Cast a permanent that costs eight (8) or more
Old School :: Have all five original Moxen in play
“Doctor.” “Doctor.” “Doctor.” :: Control three (3) copies of the same non-land permanent
[ ] :: Have no lands in play on turn three (3) or later
Stop me if you’ve heard this one... :: Play spells of the same name four (4) times in a single turn
Float like a Spirit Token, sting like a Welder! :: Attack for exactly one (1) damage
It’s only a flesh wound! :: Have 1-9 poison
Is that all you’ve got?! :: Beat turn 1, resolved: Jace, Trinisphere, Oath or Tinker
Still had all these… :: Discard down to your max hand size during your End Step
Plate spinning :: Have three (3) cards on the stack at the same time
Proletariat :: Trade with a creature in combat
Global Warming :: Control a Smokestack with three (3) or more soot counters
After you :: Deck your opponent with Ancestral Recall
That was premature :: Achieve a storm count of 10 on your turn and pass the turn without winning
Et tu, Bobby? :: Lose a game to a permanent you control
Cut Heard 'Round the World :: Cut your opponent's deck to a game-winning or game-losing topdeck

- And More!

Ahhh, The Dark Sith Lord himself, Stephen Q. Menedian is making a trip back into Jedi territory. I can't wait.

My padawan captured a print out to the plans of your Burning Long's deck box. I must say, it's very impressive.

have you ever seen the episode of Married with Children when Al Bundy purchases a special toilet?

The Jedi are relentless.  It's time for the Sith to return and wipe them out... all of them...

WOW- this lines up perfectly with my 11 day vacation!
As long as the weather is favorable, I will be able to make this... it will be my first game of Magic in over a year!

-If anyone is thinking of heading out from the Pittsburgh area, let me know and you can ride shotgun.

Isn't Rich Shay in the Pittsburgh area? You should have'em gear up in his white Jedi Kung-Fu suit and bring him along. He has to be itching for some vintage!

Watch out, Emperor. Twaun has been training in taking down senior citizens.

He's quite the specialist.

I told my grandma not to bring her EDH deck to the Serious Testing Compound, but noooooo.......

Yangtime's family is still in awe regarding the level of intensity we're bringing to this party

I was going to make a joke about your deck box also being a toilet, but then I got worried about that kid in your gif possibly being dead. Either way, your deck is poop.
