We finally had our first Vintage event in southern Louisiana with 7 players in attendance! Unfortunately more people did not show up due to the holiday festivities and short notice, but hopefully next time we will have at least 8! We decided to play 6 rounds with a top 2 playoff. The Metagame Breakdown: 2 Grixis Control 1 Dredge (Fatesticher) 1 Esper Bomberman 1 Noble Fish (Shardless Agent) 1 Mono Red Shops 1 East Coast Wins The top 2 playoff was split by East Coast Wins and Esper Bomberman. I apologize for not having everyone's deck lists. For future events I will ask for the lists. Here are some pictures from the event! RisingWater also has a few more! A special thanks to RisingWater for getting this event together

I put my Wastelands and Force of Wills in a pitcher and tried to pour them in a cup...... I really didn't see any type of liquidity.
Clearly we need to restrict Lodestone Golem, as he's oppressing the field.

I was just happy to see the Yankees hat... A New Yorker would say that! It's cool to see vintage from the south! Keep it up and Team Serious might have to make a visit to the bayou.

Awesome to see a scene brewing down in the South.
Do my eyes deceive me, or did this look like it could have been sanctioned?

5 of the 7 players were actually fully powered/without proxies! RisingWater is currently finishing his power/Worshops, and the Noble Fish player had to proxy Meddling Mages lol.

I had a lot of fun at this event! I'm really glad we had people show for it. From asking around, I believe we will have a couple people next time that were not at this last one. Here's my little piece on it all: I was on mono red shops. Here is my list I was running. 4x Goblin Welder 4x Lodestone Golem 2x Phyrexian Metamorph 2x Phyrexian Revoker 1x Black Lotus 4x Chalice of the Void 4x Crucible of Worlds 1x Mana Crypt 1x Mox Emerald 1x Mox Jet 1x Mox Pearl 1x Mox Ruby 1x Mox Sapphire 4x Smokestack 1x Sol Ring 4x Sphere of Resistance 4x Tangle Wire 1x Trinisphere 3x Barbarian Ring 4x Bazaar of Baghdad 4x Mishra's Workshop 2x Mountain 1x Strip Mine 1x Tolarian Academy 4x Wasteland Sideboard 2x Ensnaring Bridge 3x Grafdigger's Cage 2x Pithing Needle 4x Tormod's Crypt 2x Maze of Ith 2x The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale Of The games that I played, I was about 50/50 against the blue decks I played, I lost to fish and bomberman, And beat dredge. I decided to switch over to mono brown due to the consistency issues with the mana base of red. The games that I lost to bomberman was just due to it comboing out and me not finding an answer soon enough. I lost to fish due to keeping a hand I shouldn't have and getting land screwed. Sideboard-wise, tormod's was pro. I didn't even use the tabernacles, mazes, or bridges. It was a lot of fun though, I'm really excited about the next one. Next time I'll try to take some notes to be able to give a little better report. Here's the pictures I took...

If I were a Mets fan I'd consider front-running a dump truck and then coming to an abrupt stop. Good luck on your next event, Josh.

You know, as a moderator for this site, I think you would adhere to your own rules about staying on topic and not bashing part of your site's membership in a pretty cruel way. Indirectly telling Mets fans to commit suicide... seriously Nick. If that was your idea of a joke, then please take all the money you made from selling your collection to take sensitivity training instead of buying a house. That said, glad to see Vintage in any form occuring outside of the Northeastern quarter of the United States.

I'll let Nick speak for himself for this one. Way to put him on blast though.

I spoke for me, not you, or anyone else. 'I' indicates me. 3. If you have issues with things that are said, you are more than free to send a PM in which you enumerate your points. You are the only person who seemed to take the offhand comment poorly, but I'll openly apologize to anyone who was offended by it. It was meant in jest, and if it was taken the wrong way, I'm sorry, it wasn't meant that way. That being said, Bauer, you have had issues in the past with comments made by many members of the community. Flame wars have been started, by you, which involved members of the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania crowds. You have been previously disciplined for those comments. This seems to be a case of the pot calling the kettle black. If you'd care to discuss this further, feel free to send me a PM. Further thread derail is not acceptable.

All that aside, we will be holding another event on the 2nd of March. I will of course be running a powered Blue deck and have both a partial proxied Shops deck and a non-proxied Dredge deck for folks to borrow.
