I sure hope these new players don't get paired against me, because they won't be able to read any card in my deck. Seconded. Thirded.

I have a couple more questions about proxies that I don't think have been answered yet, although *SPOILER ALERT* I may be playing a zero-proxy deck at this event. 1) Are Gamingetc proxies allowed? 2) How about blacked-out cards with all rules text written on them in silver paint markers? Also, I hope you aren't taking too much liberty with P9 proxies. For example, should anybody cast a "Recall" against me, I'm going to assume they mean the one that costs . (Hey, it was once restricted in Vintage as well! That card's busted!) #RyanGlackinAngleShoots But enough about proxies. I'm glad you decided to open up enrollment for this event and the evil right-wing free-market capitalist conservative in me hopes you make a shit ton of money from it. I'm looking forward to being there for both days.

Blacked-out cards with the rules text written on them in silver marker are certainly allowed, however. Also, while there may be many who consider you evil for being a free market capitalist conservative, I'm not one of them. Finally, congratulations to Mike Egan, for his win at today's N.Y.S.E. Open qualifier. Mike has now earned free entry to the June 15th event!

Today was a great day for this event. For starters, there's the altered Karn, which is going out as a prize to the winner of the event: Next up, I've spoken to my good friend, Greg Fenton and he has agreed to make up some mats to be sold at the event. Greg has finished his first one, and it's stunning: Greg is currently working on a Mishra's Workshop themed mat, as well as some others for the event. If you'd like a custom mat done, please reach out to him before the event to see about having one commissioned.

Also, in case anyone wanted my opinion, that's the sickest Karn I've ever seen.

I have the Karn that will be given away on hand now, and I have to say that it looks incredible. Whoever takes this home is a lucky guy indeed...

What is the best or closest airport to fly in for this? Any particular one you recommend? Southwest has sales ongoing (and one in particular until this Thursday). Please let me know; thanks.

I'd like to know as well. I have a trip to Columbus planned for the week prior to this, so I could swing through New York that weekend to try to attend this event. Whether I do so or not will depend on flights, etc.
Thanks.

JFK and Laguardia are about 1/2 hour to an hour away depending on traffic.

It'll be good to have you there, Steve. What is the best or closest airport to fly in for this? Any particular one you recommend? Southwest has sales ongoing (and one in particular until this Thursday). Please let me know; thanks.
As Cruel Ultimatum mentioned, both JFK and La Guardia are pretty close; usual travel time is about 30 minutes. If anyone is having a problem finding a way from the airport to their hotel/friend's home/family's home/etc., please let me know. If I can help you out, I will. Also, we're now at 64 players. One more and we break into seven rounds of Vintage, which is what this event should be (at least). Any other takers for a pre-reg spot?

You can add myself (Garrett Rooney) and Mitchell Foley. We're have tentative plans to drive down from Boston, and at this point it seems likely we'll be able to make it.

I suppose it's not too late for you guys to re-book this event for the following weekend? For my sake? Thanks.
Just kidding. I now have a wedding to attend that weekend, and can't make it. Please remove me from the list.
If anyone wants to borrow my sweet, sweet camera equipment and go to town with a live stream, I'd be happy to help out. PM me if you're interested.

Sorry that you can't make it, but no worries. At this rate, there will be an N.Y.S.E. Open II in 2014, so maybe you'll be able to make it then.

Today's announcement by Wizards was very disappointing, but I am going to be upping the ante. I'm running numbers now, and should have quite a bit more to throw in as prize support.

Vintage and Legacy champs won't be held at GenCon this year, and this fact wasn't publicized early enough so lots of people booked flights, reserved hotel rooms, etc. Exactly where they will be held is still unclear.

To start off, we have two boxes of Modern Masters that will now be part of the random giveaways at the event. I am going to give one box out whole, and break the other down into draft sets that will be given out over the course of the day.

Well, my brother and I contemplated going as soon as the event was created, but the total cost for flight, entry, and hotel was going to be $800+ each. Just a little too expensive for the two days. I checked flights again today and it is about $80 cheaper, but Zach can still not go due to school. If I could find a cheap place to stay and get to and from the events, it would make this feasible for me to go for Saturday and Sunday.
Does anyone have an opening in there rooms still? I'm dying to go to this.

I can figure out rides relatively easily, I believe. Figuring out places to stay is tougher, but I hope we've just done that.
