In the shop mirror, I just saw a guy copy tangle wire with metamorph instead of staff of nin. I officially don't get Vintage players.

If I remember correctly it was MUD.

So BUG won BoM, congrats! The shop player's seven didn't look very intimidating with Chalice turn 1 and just a Wire turn 2.

Very surprised that on turn one vs bug fish he lead with chalice 0 and no follow up. Chalice 1 is a much stronger play when he is going to lead into the wire. Im aware the mox are relevant but opening up deathrite / recall when you know you have no sphere turn 2 is very strange.

Congratulations to Amadeus! You deserve it!

Very nice the double "Umpusten" (Blowout) at the end.
This is also another evidence about how strong abrupt decay really is.
This was an interesting Finals and I'll say: well played, Amadeus, well played.

I will be playing four of these.  I'll worry about the deck later.

EDIT: They are not in order of finish after the event. I think they are in order of finish after the Swiss rounds.

wow, all 3 of the shop decks were MUD decks with metal worker. Karn the liberated + 3 Staff of Nin in the second place deck. Crazy awesome.

It's interesting to revisit this discussion now that Staff of Nin has proven itself Vintage playable

The full recordings from each day are here: http://www.twitch.tv/watchdamatch/videos?kind=past_broadcasts

Looks like the individual rounds aren't up yet, they've got legacy rounds posted though, so I assume the vintage stuff will follow.  Eventually I'd expect to be able to find them here: http://www.twitch.tv/watchdamatch/videos?kind=highlights

Looks like coverage of Swiss rounds is up now -- Hiromichi is in the first. Exciting stuff!

Highlight so far: BETA SCATHE ZOMBIES for zombie tokens in a dredge deck. Man that brings me back. My favorite zombie illustration of all time. Is everyone else as big a fan of that classic early 90s RPG illustration style as I am? COLERIDGE QUOTE ON A MAGIC CARD. How far we have fallen.
